Titleist Tips: Adjust Your Setup to Alter Finesse Shot Trajectory

From James Sieckmann On December 31, 2020

To become truly proficient in the short game, you can't be a One Trick Pony. A stock bump and run shot is great when you have a clean lie, an unobstructed path to the hole and lots of green to work... with, but what happens when you find yourself short-sided? Or when you have to carry a bunker? Or if you're chipping downhill and you need all the stopping power you can get?

In cases like this, great wedge players know how to adjust the trajectory of their finesse shots to maximize their odds of getting the ball up and down. As Titleist staff member James Sieckmann shows in this video, the Vokey wedges you have in your bag are remarkably versatile, offering an infinite variety of shots that you can play around the greens. All you need to unlock their full potential is a sound starting point at setup. Then, with just a few slight adjustments to your ball position and how far you stand from the ball, you can hit everything from low checkers, to high lob shots to everything in between - unlocking your own potential, as well.
