PGA TOUR | Valero Texas Open
Jordan Spieth closed with a 6-under 66 to win the Valero Texas Open by two shots.
- Spieth led the field with 26 birdies, while finishing in the Top 6 in four Strokes Gained categories: Tee to Green (3rd); Approach to the Green (4th), Around the Green (3rd) and Putting (6th).
- He also led the field in average proximity from 50-125 yards and had a tournament-best 44 one-putts, the second-most of his career.
- Additionally, Spieth led the field with an eye-popping Strokes Gained: Total of 18.593.
- He is only the fifth player in the last 40 years to win 12 times on TOUR before the age of 28.
- Charley Hoffman – playing a Pro V1x Left Dash golf ball and TSi3 driver and fairways among his all-Titleist setup – matched Spieth’s final-round 66 to finish second.
- Spieth’s win marked the 20th victory for Titleist golf ball players out of 27 events so far this season on the PGA TOUR.

THREE IN A ROW FOR TSi DRIVERS
Jordan Spieth (TSi3) was the third player in three weeks to win on the PGA TOUR playing a TSi driver, which continues to be the most played driver model on the PGA TOUR.
- The winner of the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play gamed a TSi3 driver, while Matt Jones won the Honda Classic with a TSi2 model.
- At Valero, Spieth topped a leaderboard that featured three TSi drivers in the top 5.
- “This has been a great driver for me, it’s been fast, really forgiving. I’ve really, really liked the feel and I think it’s the best-looking driver that Titleist has ever made,” Spieth said.
- The last three winners have also each played Vokey Design SM8 wedges.
MORE PLAYERS SWITCH TO PHANTOM X
Three players added NEW Scotty Cameron Phantom X 11 putters to their bags this week at the Valero Texas Open, including a six-time TOUR winner who finished 3rd for the week in Strokes Gained: Putting.
- A total of 12 Phantom X putters were in play in Texas, including five of the new 11 and 11.5 models.
LPGA | ANA INSPIRATION
Playing a NEW Pro V1x golf ball, Patty Tavatanakit became the first player in LPGA history to earn her first-career victory with a wire-to-wire win at the ANA Inspiration.
- Tavatanakit won the year’s first major championship with a closing 4-under 68 to hold off a historic charge from Lydia Ko (Pro V1x Left Dash).
- Ko matched the tournament record with a final-round 62, including a front-nine 7-under 29, the best nine-hole score in event’s 50-year history.
- Tavatanakit, who put 2021 Pro V1x in play three events ago at the LPGA Drive On Championship, hit 85 percent of her greens in regulation and was the only player to shoot all four rounds in the 60s.
- She is the fourth player all-time to win the ANA wire-to-wire and the first rookie to win the event since 1984.
- Tavatanakit led an all-Titleist golf ball Top 6.
WORLD NO. 1 MAKES SWITCH TO TSi DRIVER
The World’s No. 1 player made a mid-tournament driver change during last week’s KIA Classic after the first round, switching from a competitive model to a Titleist TSi3 at Aviara Golf Club in California.
- Following her opening 18 Thursday morning, she made the short drive from Carlsbad to the Titleist Performance Institute in nearby Oceanside to test the new TSi models. It took no more than 30 minutes for her to get dialed in to a TSi3 11.0° driver with a Graphite Design IZ 5R shaft (45”), while working with Titleist fitters Aaron Luttrell and Nick Geyer.
- The new setup delivered added ball speed with a more optimal spin number for increased carry distance.
- Over the final three rounds, she averaged 264 yards off the tee, 12 yards longer than her Round 1 average. She averaged 272 yards off the tee this week at the ANA, where she finished T-7 after a final-round 68.
- “I changed driver last week after the first round,” she told LPGA.com this week. “I went to the Titleist [Performance Institute] center [in Oceanside] and tried a couple drivers, picked a really good one. I used that next three days and hit really good last week. I had good practice [with it] last three days at Mission Hills [Country Club], so can’t wait for tomorrow and all four days.”
KORN FERRY TOUR | Emerald Coast Classic at Sandestin
Stephan Jaeger (Pro V1) emerged from an all-Titleist golf ball playoff to earn his sixth Korn Ferry Tour win and secure his PGA TOUR card for next season.
- Jaeger closed in 4-under 66 to force the playoff with David Lipsky (Pro V1x Left Dash), who posted a final-round 67.
- Jaeger topped a leaderboard that featured six Titleist Pro V1 and Pro V1x players in the top 7 positions.
AMATEUR | Augusta National Women’s Amateur
Titleist was the overwhelming golf ball of choice at the 82-player Augusta National Women’s Amateur with 91% of the field trusting Pro V1 and Pro V1x golf balls.
- Of the top 30 players to qualify for the final round at Augusta National, 93 percent teed up a Titleist.
