Titleist golf ball loyalist Madalitso Muthiya (Pro V1) carded a final round 4-under-par 66 at the Vodacom Wild Origins to earn his first career victory on the Sunshine Tour.
“I was very proud of myself," said Muthiya after the win. "I stayed within the plan that I had when I started out the round, and I managed to play well enough on a very tough day.”
Muthiya's victory total of 11-under-par 199 at Wild Coast Sun Country Club was two shots clear of two players, including Titleist golf ball loyalist Ockie Strydom (Pro V1x).
Titleist Brand Ambassador Jean Hugo (Pro V1x) finished in a three-way tie for fourth at 7-under-par 203.
“I want to build on the strengths I have and rectify the mistakes I made," said, Muthiya, who becomes the first Zambian to win on the South African Tour.
"But all in all, I think I handled myself pretty well, and that certainly applies moving forward.”
