Have been using set of AP1 irons for 2 years.

    Clubs go from AP1 SW-5 iron , Hybrid 909H 21, wood 909F 18.5, driver 909D2 10.5.

Shafts are Diamana 80 HY, Flex-R

Been looking for advise on addition of  club 3 / 4 iron and or  wood to provide options on distance.

Guess I am hitting 5 iron 165 meters (approx) , 909H hybrid 175 meters (approx), 909F wood 195 meters (approx)

Would there be any benifit for extra club in bag ?

    HI Duncan,

Our Tour Leadership team are finding that more and more PGA Tour stars are reaching for the 910H hybrids- between 18° and 22°- to replace their 3 and 4 irons in the bag.  They are finding it easier to get better launch and longer carry with the 910H hybrids and as your swing speed slows, these clubs become a great substitute to maintain length and the correct gaps within your set make up.

Many thanks for the informative feed back, very much appreciated.

Will now look to add an 18 degree 910H hybrid to my set.

    Best regards,

    Cheers

    Hi Duncan.

Thanks for your note. It's a pleasure getting these Q's from our TT ANZ fans and we are only to happy to assist.

BTW good choice going with the 18° 910H hybrid.  You can let the loft out a little by adjusting the sure fit hosel plus dial it down a fraction as well.  These clubs do make the ball fly higher off the face than your irons so you can play them around long par 3's and get all the stop you need.

Our fitters say that for more skilled players they generally get more use of the 18° hybrid on the course- for example, tee shots on short par 4's, for second shots on par 5's, for long par 3's etc.  Players generally drop the 2 and 3 iron, and sometimes their lofted fairway wood in favour of this club and find they hit it up to 6-8 times a round.  Generally these players say that replacing a 4 iron with a hybrid you are really only substituting a club in the bag that you only use 2-3 times in an entire round.

Look forward to hearing how you get on with a new 910H in your bag.

    Regards

    -Dave
