How do you guys plan on working on your game over the winter? Is it an indoor range or simulator golf? Is it trips down south? Maybe some newly fitted 712 equipment or some SM4 wedges? For me it will be some video analysis of the swing and workouts to improve movement, strength and flexibility. Last year I worked too much on my putting indoors and on the stroke that I struggled with the full swing at the start of the season and my putting stroke became too mechanical and it took a long time for me to trust it and just let it go.

For me, the goal is to do some indoor work on all aspects of the game.  Any recommendations on a facility by the way?  I am for sure going to get some new SM4's as well!!

I  missed all of 2011 with health issues and surgery, so hoping to work hard this of season to get the game back and ready to hit the links in 2012.  Really excited to get started!!

Who else will be working hard to improve this off season, and what equipment changes if any will take place this upcoming winter?

I bought a new pair of Foot Joy tour rain pants, my course may have some damp days, but on the left coast I play 365. BTW sunshine and a 78 yesterday. This brings up another question. When the sand in the traps are heavy and damp you want less bounce, but if the fairways are soft you want more bounce. How do other people deal with winter playing conditions? The soft fairways cost me 3 strokes yesterday when the wedge dug in deep!

    Hi Matt,

A little off topic here...but you asked to see some pictures of the shirts you just won this past Friday after being the first to guess the Team Titleist Trivia answer correctly.  Check them out below.

We have just a few more of these remaining that we'll be including in future Team Titleist Trivia sessions.  Stay tuned!

I work on putting indoors and train in the gym. Working on my swing over the winter always seems to give me negative results when the season comes.

I'll be be studying away all winter.  D-Plane, Aimpoint, Mind Factor, Wedge and Putter fitting.  You name it I'll probably be reading something about it.

I do work indoors too, but inside I don't work too much on the swing it self.  I find the more I learn the better I get through osmosis.

Great input Brad!  Any book recommendations for the off-season?

Here are a few I've read that I've liked. I'm more of a mind nerd than anything else. Mental: Extraordinary Golf (This is my all time favorite golf book! A bit out there but amazing) Every shot must have a Purpose Zen Golf Physical: The Art of Putting - Stan Utley The Art of the Short Game - Stan Utley Impact Zone - Bobby Clampet Other: Golf in the Kingdom Hero's all - Darren Clarkes book about the Ryder Cup That's all I have off the top of my head right now. I'm sure if I went through my library I'd think of some more! Brad

    Hey Matt,

All about staying loose throughout the winter for me.

I'm a feel player and find nothing worse then standing on the range at the start of the season and having that foreign feeling when I'm about to make my first contact of the year.  Indoor range once or twice a week hitting mostly high irons and wedges to keep things simple and loose.  I actually really enjoy short range wedge target practice to further reinforce tempo, balance and feel.

    All the best,

    Mitch D

    Hey, Matt.

2 weeks in the Carribean helps me work on the game. Carpet putting and the occasional indoor golf game keep the game from disintegrating.

    Cheers!

    Hi Matt

After struggling all year with back issues that saw me playing a lot of second shots from the right-side crap I will be in the gym trying to regain some flexibility and improve strength and then over to the indoor range to try to fix the compensations.  Fortunately the place I go is an excellent facilty with gym, range and pool all rolled into one!
