Was at Golftown today looking to get a new set of clubs, Im thinking of getting a combo set, its it possible to combine the MB712's and AP2 's in the same set. Thinking of getting the AP2's in the 3 - 5 irons and 6,7,89 in the MB 712's is that doable? - Beautiful clubs, by the way!

    Thanks in advance

    Hello Gerard,

You can absolutely make a combo set via a custom order through Golf Town.  They can price it all out for you and provide you with an ETA on delivery.

Thank you for the kind words about the irons.  They've been available for a couples weeks now and they've been VERY well received.

Please let us know what you think of them once you've put them in play.

    All the best,

Mitch D - Team Titleist Canada

I had AP2's and just bought the 712 MB's 6-P and kept the 4 and 5 AP2 irons. I had the same shafts put in all irons based on a fitting and had them weighted so there wasn't a discrepancy there. The set is awesome and i love the feel of the new MB's. The forgiveness of the AP2's in the longer irons is a great compliment to the pure striking abilities of the MB's. I would highly recommend doing this. I had all my stuff done at Golftown after a Titleist fitting there. They did great work. Sean (Canadian Divots)

i'm just wondering if going from a ap2 to a mb would have a huge difference in feel wouldn't it be better to do a cb-mb combo instead

The main difference between the MB and the AP2 is in the forgiveness but in my opinion you have to be comfortable with your strikes to play either. The AP2's are great if you are aggressive through the turf same with the CB's if you're aggressive with your divots then either should work well. I tend to be less aggressive through the turf and tend to pick the ball so the MB's work well for me but hitting the 3&4Irons from the Mb's from the rough especially think or second cut can be tough so thats why I will either combine with the AP's or substitute the 3 & 4 irons with a hybrid and a fairway wood, still deciding.

The feel of the MB is different from the AP2's though, the MBs are much much softer when you hit them flush, whereas the MB's have a more solid feel, almost a clicking sound to them. I love the look and feel of the MB 710's Ill just have to improve my irons game to enjoy them fully but thats what golf is about...Improving...
