Crack in PROV1x

    Hey,

    Anyone else had a new (2012) PROV1x crack.

    I custom ordered these #68s (for low round) late last spring when golftown had a 4 for 3 deal on.  This was the last sleeve, but the ball had only been played maybe 8 holes in Nov. on a golf trip to Arizona.

    Any thoughts?  Should I take it in to golftown? Should I alert someone at Titleist?

    It's very odd isn't it. I've been playing the Prov1x for awhile now and I also had one split in the summer. I didn't think anything of it and just tossed it away. I'm glad you brought it up cause I thought I was the only one lol. Im curious now to see if anyone else has had this issue aswell.

    Had one crack exactly like yours.  It happens.  Not much you can do.  Since its been used, I doubt you can do anything about it. I've used thousands of ProV1x's over the past 10 years or so, and only had it happen once.  Just bad luck or something else when something like that happens to you!!

    We haven't actually heard many (if any) complaints about this over the past summer. 

    In cases of manufacturing/production defects or cracked golf balls (i.e. cut through to core), we will review the Pro V1, Pro V1x, and NXT Tour models for potential replacement. If you live in Canada and feel your golf ball(s) meet this description, we ask that you please return the golf ball(s), along with a note describing the problem (including where you purchased) to the address referenced below.     In all my years of playing golf, I can honestly say I have NEVER had a ball crack on me. I remember the good old Titleist Tour Balata, and have had them cut badly from a bladed shot or skimming a tree, but not cracking.

    I would have thought that Titleist would want those balls (however rare) sent back to them so that they could investigate what happened and perhaps catch a problem in the manufacturing process before it really becomes an issue. Perhaps having them sent back through one of the Titleist Retailers like Golf Town etc... when other shipments are being made to cut down on costs.

    Hey, I have had a few crack before.  it is quite rare but happens.  You must have just hit it too hard!
