When I went for my D2 fitting, the goal was to get rid of my significant left to right fade and find a driver that was fit to my swing. When I got the fitting, the driver was set to A3 which makes sense given A3 is a strong draw bias.
The thing is - my old driver was a weaker shaft and much longer (2 Inches). The A3 setting actually worked for quite a while but then after about 15 rounds or so (plus some time on the range) I developed a really bad draw which often turned into a hook. I put that down to the fact that I finally smoothed my swing out and managed to get used to the shorter shaft.
I adjusted the driver head to open it closer to norm and that worked for a while longer and finally I am set back to A1 which is the normal setting. Amazingly enough - my fade is there but not as significant as before and I am now hitting more and more fairways again.
I am so glad that the drivers are adjustable, otherwise I would have been in a position where I would have had to do something drastic with my swing, or go out and get a new driver !
Thanks Titleist for embracing the adjustable technology with such a great product.
