Is anyone else on here entering the 2 person team tournament at Bear Creek on May 25th? My husband and I are in....if you will be there be sure to say hello. FYI....it's 27 holes...9 alternate shot, 9 better ball and 9 scramble. I'll be the one sporting the Titleist carry bag and sticks, complete with my TT bag tag! Hope to see everyone have fun!

I was once filled in for a friend in a similar tournament at Pike Lake, same format and number of holes and the team consisted of husbands and wives.  The alternate shot portion gave the tournament a new name amongst the competitors.... "The Divorce Open", lol!  I thought it was a blast!!  Is this the same?

Yes the same format.....although teams can be two men, two women or mixed. I believe there is a separate division for each. Hubby and I enjoy these as we play well together but I can see how a couple might start arguing over a few missed shots. Good thing we just laugh about those. :)

my husband has given up the game!  I would love to play in these kind of events but I will need to find a new partner? husband? LoL...   Play well, eh, Wendy!     Lorraine

Wow - That would be an interesting twist. I have heard about marriages falling apart because one spouse plays too much golf, but never because one gave up the game. I feel for you.

Perhaps you should have let him win more often LOL :)

actually, he gave it up for medical reasons... complicated situation.  He now just walks around with me while I play and this is better for his stress level and for mine.

I think it is great that he both CAN and IS willing to walk around with you while you play. That would be really tough for me. Not sure if I could walk the course when I can't play.

I do hope he has a chance to get better and ultimately return to the game.

thanks for your kind words, but he has early onset Alzheimers and it is unlikely that he will want to return to golf.  At this stage, however, it is good that he wants to walk the course with me.
