The titleist D3 has always and is still the smaller headed more traditional driver, at 440cc it launches slightly lower with less spin ,  the D2 is still a gorgeous traditional looking driver, at 460cc it has a deeper face and slightly higher launch.

I think that one being considered for the better player is a misconception, it depends on your swing and other preferences in looks , feel ect .    best option is to visit your titleist fitter.

Years ago I was playing in usga events and bombing it ( also training to join LDA and compete in long drive)   I was using the more forgiving 983k, great club but found the less forgiving 983e fit my eye and I added 15 yards to my drive .
