915H - Cleaning the Active Recoil Channel

    Just wondering if anyone else has this issue. Only used my new 915H a couple of times and love it but grass and dirt seems to get caught up in the Active Recoil Channel and is difficult to remove. A tee is too large to clean it out and I don't want to use my divot took in case it does some damage. Anyone experiencing this too and if so what are you using to clean out the channel.

    You could try a Q-Tip or maybe, buy a cheap toothbrush and use this toothbrush just for cleaning you clubs. Toothbrushes work nicely on grooves too. Sometimes, I use a vacuum and a toothpick during my post round, cleaning ritual.

    I clean/wipe my clubs after each shot and find that a 'trimmed' tee slides through well to clear the channel.  Depending upon how firm the fill is, I may need to take out a bit at a time from the edge of the 'fill' - outward.

    Yeah I have the same problem.  It is worse on my 3 wood.  I wipe my clubs after every shot, but, the slot seems to gather grass and dirt.  Try the edge of a towel and a lot comes out.  If I didn't hit it so well I must ignore it.

    Yes absolutely have that issue, hate it on practice swings! I use a tee, then blow it and then the corner of my towel and that usually does the trick. Only once, use the end of my keys to get it carefully. james

    I modified a tee with a utility knife to make it fit in the channel. Simple but effective

    I had the same problem on the course but immediatly after the shot i try using a leaf or a tooth pick

    Quick update on this issue. I have to assume that TT was being responsive to this issue. UPS just dropped off a package at my home. Opened it and it was a TT cleaning tool with a small brush that can easily clean out the ARC channel. It has an extendable lanyard that can attach to my Titleist bag making it very easy to clean my 915H during a round.

    Just use the ball mark repair tool.  The prongs slide right through the slot.  The Scotty Cameron tool works well.

    Hard to beat the team we have supporting us at Team Titleist. 

    Makes you wonder why anyone would buy from someone else after getting their first Titleist product :)

    Yes Darius...I completely agree!

    I had a problem with one of my new AP2 Irons, I contacted Titleist and they dealt with it no questions asked.  I had a special order from the Titleist Regional Fitting Centre so I had no worries about it not being an authentic Titleist product.  

    My friends from my various golf groups were impressed.  One even making the same observation - comment as yours Darius. 

    I teased him that next time, he should be looking at Titleist when he gets new clubs.

    I use my Scotty divot tool, but where can I get one of those TT cleaning tools and small brush? Playing 2-3 times a week, really taking toll and afraid divot tool may scratch. Clean clubs after every shot, and once a week , the deep clean ritual. Have the 915H and 915F so lot of dirt and grass involved. Thanks Titleist!

    I use the 913 line of hybrids, they don't have that so called, "recoil channel". Which makes them easier to clean.

    A denture dual head brush works great. Have it on a lanyard on my Team Titleist bag.

    I keep a cheapie tooth brush in my golf bag also. I don't store my clubs at my golf club so I'm always cleaning them myself - great stuff that Titleist sent some cleaning gear after reading your post! Without a doubt Titleist is the best!!!!

    Same issue here - occurs on both my 3 & 5 woods...a bit more prevalent on the 5-wood.  At the moment I've been using a very slim divot repair tool to clean it out and then trying to run the edge of my towel down into the groove.  It works ok but can be a bit of a pain.

    I have the same issue with the hybrid and 3wood. I have been using a divot tool but it does not get everything out

    I found a denture brush which has 2 sizes of brushes. They work fine at removing the grass etc. I have it attached to my bag by a lanyard.
