Any thoughts anyone on how the tournament went? I know watching Spieth's catastrophic quad on the 12th shocked me right out of my chair! The pin placements and the firmness of the greens sure made things tough on the players and the higher scores and even missed cuts from some of the biggest names in the game were quite a surprise too. Here in Ontario the course I play at is usually open by the time the Masters comes on TV but not this year, and it looks like the opening date they had hoped for (April 15) won't be met either. Here's hoping for good warm weather and soon because after watching the Masters I have the itch real bad...I'm losing it!!! LOL

I think we were all wowed by a lot of what happened during the four days of the Masters. It was indeed a gripping tournament this year.
As for playing golf in Ontario, we did get quite a bit of snow on Masters Sunday, but it is nice and warm today and I expect we will have it all gone by tomorrow at the latest. Would not be surprised to see some of the local courses around Barrie opening by the 20th :)

    Hi,
I thought it was a tournament that played a bit more like a US Open than a traditional Masters tournament. I was hoping Jordan would pull it off ...even with his "B" game he was still coping to lead the tournament. It was the finish on Saturday that had me wondering ... he really struggled with the finishing holes (17 & 18) that cost him three strokes.

He pars those and he starts Sunday with a 4 stroke margin...after the first 9 on Sunday, he would have been heading into Amen Corner with a 6-8 stroke margin and could afford to be a bit more aggressive going through that stretch.

Regardless, he played the course the best over the entire tournament. Unfortunately, he gave too many strokes away that cost him the best score.

I thought the wind was a factor, as reported by the commentators, the first three days but couldn't understand why it affected so many "Names" to not adjust and having to miss the cut and why they couldn't overcome that element. After some further thought and having been there, it's the trees and their height and the pockets that they create along with the higher greens being exposed....tough track becomes a much tougher track!

Totally enjoyed the Masters this year. Sorry for what happened to Spieth but that is golf. When you least expect it something is going to jump up and bite you. A lot of great shots three holes in one. Great chip ins. Pure entertainment.
