Just received an email from Titleist announcing the newest addition to the golf ball line up by Titleist. The new Tour Soft golf balls ... great packaging for that "eye catching shelf appeal"!

Mitch, is there any information that you can share with us about the new ball and whether it is the AVX ball? If not, is it a replacement for the NXT Tour Soft balls? If I recall properly, the AVX was formulated and designed with a urethane type of cover and I am curious if this is a similar cover or if it is something akin to the blended covers such as those used on the NXT Tour balls?

Regardless, a nice looking product and worth trying a sleeve or two.

Would love to see the difference between the Pro V1 and Tour Soft green to tee. (according golf ball cert course, it has a similar ball flight as the V1 )
What is the price point of the new ball?

Well since my initial post the more information has started coming out about the tour soft. It looks very much like it will be replacing the NXT Tour line of golf balls, including the price point - that is being somewhere in between the TruSoft / Velocity on the lower end and the Pro V series on the top end.

I do like the fact that this ball comes with a thinner cover - it could be promising in terms of being able to generate more greenside spin.

Here in the greater Vancouver area of the West Coast, we have been fortunate enough to be able to play from time to time this winter. The only challenge is that it has been very damp and soggy at times. As a result, from time to time, I lose golf balls from plugging in the soft turf. It is a bit hard to stomach if it is a Pro V ball!

So, I do tend to rely on the NXT Tour S this time of the year as the softer greens generally compensate for less spin on the golf balls. If I happen to lose one it is little less hard on the wallet! I think that I will try a sleeve or two of these out until the better weather arrives!
