i'm looking to buy some new irons set and i want to be back with Titleist, but witch one? AP2 or CB?
andre lVictoria, BC
I would suggest getting AP2s just because they provide slightly more forgiveness than the CBs. I would also get upgraded shafts instead of the standard S300s.
And what kind of shaft? pj x , nippon, kbs ? Dynalite ? I'm looking for mid-stiff if possible or stiff.
In my experience, getting fit for the proper shaft is the most important part of the club fitting process. Talk to your club pro or titleist rep.

Very good advice by Andre. Get fit, your local club professional with the Sure Fit Cart will be able to let you try both the AP2 and the CB iron head with different shafts. This is the only true way to tell what fits you best.

I too am looking at both these irons and I am not sure which set would be a better fit for me. I currently use the 990s' with a rifle 6.0. I find that they are a bit lofty and I have trouble getting under the wind. Can any one offer some suggestions?
Well with DG S300 you will lunch your ball lower then with riffle.
I do like the feel of the Rifle shafts, and I have used the True Temper DGS 300s' in the past. I really think that this is probably a loft issue, but I won't know for sure until I compare.

Hi Jim,
It truly depends on a number of factors. I am having a similar issue myself and am considering the AP2 or CB. The CB will launch the ball lower because it has a higher center of gravity than the AP2. I have also found that the KBS shaft with CB head combo to flight it a bit more boring. My issue is that the AP2's are more forgiving and close to as workable. Good luck sir!
