Shafts for 910D3

    I was just curious what stock shaft is going to keep it the lowest and cut back on spin (in theory).  I know that to keep it down Im looking for a higher kick, mid torque and maybe a touch heavier (72g).  Ive looked at the stats and they look great, but I was curious if anyone had some real life input.

    Spec wise the Project X should....

    When I was fit at Manchester Lane, they told me the RIP 70 spun the least for me.  And it's considered stock!

    I have had great feedback from customers with the Project X Shaft. The Rip 70 will definately bring your spin rates down but the torque is a little low at 2.7. If you don't feel the Rip 60 somewhat flex or work within your swing than the Project X 7C3 6.0 will be a nice alternative. I suggest to get fit by a professional either at your home course or where authorized fitters are present.  In addition to our Regional Fitting Centers and Authorized Fitters, Titleist has representatives actively in golf shops and national retailers throughout Canada.

    Thanks a lot for the feedback guys.  Strangely enough I have been a Titleist Tech Rep and Fitting Rep for 2 years but because of school I havent had a chance to try out the new equipment much.  A few swings at GT is about it :).  Just figured Id get some input and feedback from those who have tried and compared the stuff.  Ill also be making some upgrades to the equipment this year in the form of the D3 and probably some CB's.  You guys are a great help.  Appreciate it!

    I chose the 910D3 head for is playability and more penetrating launch and did not regret it in the least.  I loved the 983E, and although I thought very highly of the 905 and 909 series, the 910 is Titleist's best driver heads ever.

    The D3 head itself will help keep spin rates down and a tip-stiff shaft will help as well. The mid-high kick point will probably do more to keep the launch low than to reduce spin.

    One big difference I saw in keeping spin down was to go with heavier shafts. I prefer the Project X shafts (granted I did not try the RIP).  The PX Tour Issue shafts give you much more options than the regular PX, especially in shaft weight.

    In my case I opted for the PX 7B3 for the D3,  76 g weight with a flex of 6.5 (X-stiff). With PX Tour Issue you can get up to 83g of shaft weight.

    Another thing to consider is ball type. The Pro V1x will reduce driver spin rate and still give you plenty of spin on those partial wedge shots.
