What do you think players should have has hdcp to play MB irons and have fun with them?

    Hi Martin,

In my opinion you should be atleast under a 4 handicap although it doesnt matter so much about handicap as ball striking ability.  Keep in mind that you will play golf in a number of conditions and on days where perhaps your swing may not be 100%.  If you feel that you can make pure contact most of the time and that your mis-hits arent too bad, then go for it.   Irons liek the CB's offer lots of workability as well as that forged feel while still offering some forgiveness.

On the other hand, the MB's look so pretty in the bag :)

    Hope that helps.

Even a combo set might be a good idea as well.  The CB's blend so well with the MB's, and provide a bit more forgiveness then the MB's in the long irons.  Lots of guys on Tour do this.  Best looking clubs around!!

Handicap means very little towards what style irons you should play. If I had to place a number on it, I would say about a 4-5. Best way to determine if you should be playing them would be to go to the range with some impact tape on the face of your irons and hit them all. If your contact is very consistant then MB's would be a good choice (assuming you have a reliable ball flight and pattern). If your contact starts to stray at a certian point I would suggest going with a combo set from there on. I have a MB 5-PW and CB 3,4 and I love it.
