    Hi All,

I am a 5 handicap and just bought my dream bag of Titleists at the end of March.  I had my AP2 irons custom fit and on the lie board I stike evenly.  I am LH and my misses have always been to the right.  The fitter set them up 2 degrees upright and I have now been out to the range twice and I am hitting all my higher irons way right, not a pull but I am getting some nasty hook spin that I can't control.  I'm thinking I need to get them bent back to standard.  I am hitting the 3, 4 and 5 iron dead straight but from 7 - pw am hooking badly.

I'm new to lie angles, does this make sense and is there risk in getting the irons bent back to standard?

    Thanks

    Blayne,

It is very difficult to fit someone without actually seeing the swing and ball flight.  However, the results of your shots could make sense as with the more upright clubs, the heel may be digging in causing the club to close at impact.  I would recommend visiting a certified Titleist fitter and having them look at the fit one more time to verify that this may be the issue.

There should not be any risk in bending the clubs back to standard.  Once the clubs are bent back, to bend them again, you could risk cracking or breaking the club at the hosel.  I would highly recommend taking the clubs in to a local authorized Titleist dealer and having them call us for a return authorization number.  At this point the clubs would be sent to our repair team and we would perform the work for you.  The cost will be minimal and you can discuss that with the account at that time.
