I went to my local club for the Titleist fitting day and got fit for a driver, I was playing a 910D2 9.5 Ahina X flex (was not fitted for this, was an impulse buy). They did their fitting on the range with range balls (pinacle yellow) with a launch monitor. I usually play proV1x, but the fitter did not think which ball we were using mattered, he said we were comparing apples to apples. I ended up getting fit for a 910D3 8.5 Oban stiff set to D2 in order to kill the spin. The guy was so convincing that I ordered it (with a significant shaft upcharge) but now I am having second thoughts, what if when I play the proV1x things are not ideal launch angle and spin???
Does anyone have experience with this (fit with range balls, play with ProV1 ProV1x)? Does it all work out or should I go back and insist on a new fitting with my usual ball??
Thanks,
Chris
