  1. currently, i game a 915h 18* 2 hybrid and and looking to upgrade to an 816 h1 but am a little confused as the new models dont offer in 18* and no longer have a number painted on the club in regards to which iron its replacing(2 hybrid, 3 hybrid etc) which model hybrid is meant to take the place of the older 18* 2 hybrid ?

They do have a number on the toe of the club. There is a 17° and a 19°. I don't recall exactly but you can go stronger either .75° or 1° and weaker 1.5° or 2°. I'm fortunate enough with my 19° and 23° I don't have to adjust them as my gapping is perfect.

My fitter recommended the 21* to replace my 4 Iron in my set it replaces a 22* iron. My make up is Driver, 3-Wood, 5- wood, 21* 816H1 and then 5-W2 AP1's with vokey and scotty filling out the bag. 3 iron is 18 * so I guess the 19* 816H1 then the 17* 2 Hybrid. Maybe Cathi or Chris could chime in I may be leading you down the wrong path.

At the moment Titleist's lowest lofted hybrids are 19* which can be lofted down 0.75* if you wanted to get one of them.

I have read on another forum however that they are going to be releasing a 17* 816H1 due to demand of some tour players but I don't have a clue when this will be available to the public.

    Hope this helps

In the 816H, 23*=4i, 21*=3i, 19*=2i. At least that is my understanding.

I had the 915h 18* and I replaced it with the 816h1 17* and thanks to Titleist for making the 17*. The 816s now offer you the option of moving the loft 1 degree vs .75 on the 915s. So if you need an 18* you can change the loft. I left mine set at 17* and have the Black Rogue Shaft this baby is hot. Do not know if it is meant to replace the 915s but I do like them better. I carry two 816s in my bag. The other is set at 21*. I am not so much concerned about numbers on the clubs as I am yardage between clubs. My set up is: 915d2 10.5, 917f3 15.0, 816h1 17.0, 816h1 21.0, 716ap2s 5-w, sm6 50.10, 56.14.

HI, The 915H was offered in 18°, 21°, 24° and 27°. The 915Hd was offered in 17.5°, 20.5° and 23.5°. They were adjustable in 3/4° increments.

The 816H1 is offered in 17°, 19°, 21°, 23°, 25° and 27°. The H2 is offered in 19°, 21°, 23° and 25°. Due to our new Surefit adapter on the 816's, they are adjustable in 1° increments, so you can take the loft up (more) 2° and down (less) 1° and the lie angle can be adjusted independently of the loft up to 2° upright or 1° flat. As the 816's are long iron replacements, it allows you to adjust it more similarly to irons.

I carry 3 hybrids and consider them to be scoring clubs as an extension of my irons. The 815H 21, 816H1 23, and 816 H1 27 step up from AP2 steel irons 5 thru PW. You should consider the length of the hybrids as significant fitting specs. If you're replacing a 4 iron with a hybrid, specify an appropriate club length from your 5 iron. Iron length progression is usually 1/2 inch within the set. 816 lofts are adjustable, but the length isn't.
