I would like to order my 910 D2 with the Ahina 72 (S) at 44".  I realize that this will affect the swing weight dramatically.  How can I go about ordering the driver and ensuring that Titleist does it's best to get the swing weight close to stock?

I know that a head weight can be added up to 12g, which would help get the swing weight back some, but is there any way to ensure that my requests are noticed and met?  I don't want to receive the driver and the swing weight be C9, or something far from what I requested...Thanks for any responses!

Kyle:  When you make the order through your dealer, you and the pro can call in to a real Titleist Sales representative and make as many specific requests as you want!  That's how we do it on special orders like yours.  In the meantime...the stock swingweight is usually between D-3 and D-4.

    Kyle:

Going 1" short will lose around 5-6 swingweight points.  You will need to add between 10-12 grams to the head weight to bring it back up.  My suggestion is to find a local Titleist Fitter and get some testing done.

Swingweight is a very interesting variable to test, because you can sometimes find good results with unlikely swingweights.

    910D2 w/ 'ahina 72 S @ 44"

    D4 w/ the 12g swingweight screw

    D1.5 w/ 9g swingweigt screw

  5. This information is slightly off.  The 910 heads are built at a tighter tolerance than in years past and we have a specific number of swingweights we can achieve with the 910.

A 910 D2 Titleist ahina 72 stiff at 44" would be built at D1 with the 12g weight.

    Nick:

I have this combination in my fitting matrix and was surprised when I swingweighted it at D4 w/ the 12g weight.  So I am guessing my headweight is a little heavy.  Guess I will gram scale all my heads.

What about the swingweight of a 910 D2 with Titleist ahina 82 stiff instead of 72 at 44" with 12g weight. Does heavier shaft increase swingweight in this case?

    Hi GWD -

Yes.  Guideline is 10g shaft weight = 1 swingweight point.  So you would be looking more at D2 with this combo.

Lighter grip weight = more swingweight. Standard grip is 52g Winn Excel RF is 42g Winn Lite is 27 g 1 swingweight point change for every 5 grams of grip change. The diff between a standard grip and a Winn Excel RF is 2 swingweight points and between standard and a Winn Lite is 5 swingweight points. I've actually had this measured when adjusting golf clubs. But, to be honest, the feel is horrible with a Winn Lite grip. I've got Winn Excel RF midsize grips (43g) on my woods, hybrid and irons. Wedges still retain rubber grips. My driver is 45"
