Anybody gain a crazy amount of distance with their new D2 or D3?

  1. I've been a TM fan for quite some time but this year went with the club that just felt better and hit the fairway. I'll be honest I never would've tried a Titleist in a million years. My girlfriend bought the 3 wood and 5 wood and i hit them at a range one day and something just clicked. By far the best feeling shots Ive ever hit. At that time I had an shiny (Dull) R11 in the bag trying to like it.  Hit it all over the place and felt terrible. What I'm getting at is the their website has all kinds of crazy distance gains by these pros and I was just wondering if Titleist fans have any similar gains with their D2/D3. I have been most please with my measly 15 yards! I can now hang with the 19 year old kids at the club now but just dead straight.

I have seen several cases of 30-40 more yards with 910.  Simply because of the ability to have the best fit driver ever.

Hey Bryce, I've had an interesting experience with my D3. I got fit at my local golf store and launch and spin numbers were pretty good (110 mph swing speed with 2800 rpms of spin 245 yd carry) and ended up a 9.5* 910 D3 with a Project X stiff. I went out to the course with it and I felt that i gained about 5 yards and hit a lot more fairways but the results weren't exactly what I expected. I just didn't feel like I was hitting it as good as I felt I should have. I went through a few more different head options and the head and shaft combination that I finally settled on is the 8.5* D3 w/ Real Diamana Whiteboard C-4 setting. Absolutely love it! Haven't got the launch numbers on it yet but it feels great and I can carry about 265 yds with the setup. I'm going for a lot more par 5's in two and i can hit it high and low with ease and I'm finding a lot more fairways. It's pretty fun to outdrive all my buddies. :)

I do not as yet have a 910. I have a 909D3. I have been saving and because I wanted a 910, my golfing buddy had to go buy it before me because he could. I have hit it plenty of time and have noticed a 10-20 increace in distance and that is with his settings. I have wanted to hit the woods though. i think that would be a big help , to be able to set up the woods just like the driver. Good luck and have fun playing with titleist equipment.

I hit the 910 D3 last weekend at a local demo day.  I told the rep that I normally slice the ball if I don't make square contact.  He set me up on the d2 setting (I am a lefty) and I honestly hit 5-6 in a row 270 straight as an arrow.  My normal driving distance before was 230-240.  I have NEVER hit the ball as far and as straight as I was hitting the 910 D3.  Now, I just have to save up to buy my own!! Hopefully in the next two weeks.

Following is a true story of a fitting I conducted yesterday.

Scott wanted to be fit for a driver and he asked about the R11 so after establishing his length of shaft and loft needs I gave him the R11/9.5 loft --- ball speed of 130 mph.  After several hits I gave him a 910 D2 with 9.5 loft / RIP 60 -- first swing 136 mph, second swing 139 and his fourth swing was 146 MPH!!!  An increase in carry distance of 36 yards over R11. This is the most dramatic I have seen but certainly not the first time I have seen this over the R11.

Anybody not believe this you can call me at The Ball Golf Center in OKC and if you want I can let Scott tell you the same thing.

I have a 910 D3 and I have gained about 15 yards in carry and another 10ish in roll.  The flight is just so much better.  My old driver is a 907D1, and it used to give me a higher ball with little to no roll.

I've had a chance to test drive the R11 before I purchased the 910 D3. The only thing that impressed me about the R11 was that it is very forgiving. Other than that, It just can't hold a candle to the 910. I noticed a tremendous increase in distance (and feel) combined with the new ProV1x.

I have gained about 20 yards with the 8.5 D3; however, as Joe said, I am sure much of the yardage gain can be attributed to the fitting process and fitting technology available through the SureFit hosel technology.

Oh yeah, a straighter and more penetrating ball flight and more roll after the carry.  It's the club, not my swing.

i have a very similar story. i have had cally drivers since they have been in business thought that i could never hit anything else.  This year decided i wanted a change and tried them all  Tried the R11.  HATED IT.  Then the Razor not any better. Finally the New D3 after the 1st swing i knew this was the one for me. after messing with all the settings i settled on A4. longer staighter and higher ball flight. I will not go back to anything else. 3 wood is just as good.

i gained about 10-15 yard with my 910 d3. i think part of that is the ability to get fit with all of the shaft options. love it!

I have definitely seen more distance and more fairways. Who could ask for more!
