Hello,
I went to a golf shop to compare drivers last night. I compared the D2 10.5 Kaili stiff shaft to the R11 stiff with their standard Blur shaft. I found that I hit the ball remarkably similar with the two clubs. Same trajectory and dispersion and the distance was similar as well. I have decided that I like the D2 better due to the greater adjustability, and the shorter shaft should help my accuracy, and I am happy to not lose distance with the shorter shaft. My swing speed is in the 88-95 range. I am a 10 handicap and play fairly frequently. My tempo is on the smooth vs. quick border and my angle can get a little too steep when I am not playing well. My current miss is a late release which can cause a fade. (but I am working on that)
The clubfitter on site was not the best that I have ever encountered. He did not talk about my spin numbers or offer any suggestions. In the area I live in my choices for location for purchases are somewhat limited. They do have the full Titleist fitting cart. I can get the spin numbers and launch angle and figure that out myself.
I was wondering if I tried the 9.5 D2 with the Ilima shaft what differences should I expect to see in that vs. what I have hit? Otherwise do you have any shaft/loft suggestions I should look at before I purchase?
I felt like the combination I tried there were no major flaws with, but I am not sure due to the similarity in results that I was necessarily optimized.
Thank you,
SB
