I would say experiment with them both. Compare the distance & feel either during a round like front 9 Pro V1 & back 9 Nxt Tour. Or play 3 holes then switch. I've played both and my personal experience is the Nxt tour is longer off the tee (for me about 4-6 yds) & has a bit more roll out from my mid iron shots into the green than my Pro V1. I play the V1 95% of the time right now. But will change once in awhile to the NXT Tour S.

It's all about distance, accuracy & feel to me. Good luck.

No reason to start with your ball Have you been fitted in the last 10 years? You might need different shafts and maybe a loft change on your driver Newer clubs can offer more forgiveness and easier ball striking On the upside, you can easily try both the NXT Tour and the NXT Tour-S for the price of a sleeve at your local pro shop.

I don't think so, it's all about what works for you. That said, I do alternate between the Pro V1x and NXT Tour. When I get in a fit of losing balls, I tend to switch to the NXT Tour. For me, the NXTs have a similar flight, run out a little bit more on pitches/chips, and feel a little different off the putter face. Both are great, but I definitely prefer the Pro V1x.

As Don suggested, you may want to consider going in for a ball fitting. This way you can get a good feel for how much spin you put on each ball as measured from a Trackman or Flightscope simultaor. To me, I value spin and feel more than distance. How much you compress the ball as well as the type of shafts you use on your clubs will affect the amount of spin you generate. I would suggest you first go out on the course when there is not much play going on and try playing a round with 2 balls (Pro V & NXt) to get a feel how well these balls perform for you. Evaluate each ball looking at how well you can work and control the ball from the tee box, how well the balls check up on the green from 100 yds and in, and also how well the balls perform on short pitchs and chips around the green. Then go in and get fit for the ball best for your swing and see if the numbers bear out your first impressions that you had on the course.

Going from a prov to an nxt tour isn't a good choice if you want distance. The nxt tour takes a quicker swing speed to compress than the prov1 so if youre losing distance it's probably not the ball
