The Pro V1x's definitely go further than the Pro V1's. Both balls are incredible for playing on fast greens, but personally I prefer the Pro V1's just for the softer feel of the ball. I feel more confident playing the softer feeling Pro V1's especially on fast greens, even though the Pro V1x's perform just as well.

It all depends as to what sort of player you are IMO... Personally I'm a feel guy so when the greens are soft, regardless of how fast they are I like the ProV1x as I feel like I can be more aggressive and still stop it. That being said I play in Australia so normally the greens are like concrete, hence my stock ball is the standard ProV1.

Maybe ask yourself what you'd rather feel, as an extra 10 yards of distance off the tee isn't everything, in fact it rarely is.

I used to play the Pro V1 faithfully, preferring the softer feel compared to the Pro V1x. However, a couple of years ago, I tried the golf ball fitting "program" recommended by Titleist (ie: playing different balls from the green backwards, eventually to the tee box). I did this for about 5 different rounds so that I could get a good "sample" size.

The result surprised me as I found the Pro V1x performed better for me. I found it slightly longer off the tee and I found it had better drop and stop performance than the Pro V1 on approaches to the green. Two of the test rounds that I played on was a course that used to host a PGA Tour event so the greens ran about 12 on the stimpmeter.

So my suggestion is to try the Titleist "fitting process" for the two different golf balls and see which performs better for you. Of course there will be a subjective component and an objective component to it all, but at the end of the day, I think you may find it helpful.

I agree with Ryan....I prefer the softer feel of the ProV1 so I would lean that direction for more spin on harder greens as well as for more feel.

Go with the Pro-V1, not the x

The feel and spin are better with the V than the 1x. You -might- get a few extra yards, but it would depend on your launch conditions, too. Some people do hit the Pro-V1 longer than the Pro-V1x.
