Pro V1 or ProV1x

    Turned into a similar player to Stenson as I hit wood off the tee most of the time. Although he uses a 3 wood, I am hooked on my 5 wood. Its straight as an arrow every time. As you could imagine, the ball can sure get caught up in the sky and give me virtually no distance (has happened many times with lower quality balls.) With the ProV1 though I still get good distance and the ball doesn't sky rocket at all (essentially the only ball I hit now because of that reason.) Haven't tried out ProV1x yet but wondering if that is a better option for me. Can anyone recommend the best option is this situation?

    The Pro V1x will fly higher than the Pro V1 with slightly less spin. I think the best way to decide which is best for you is buy a sleeve of Pro V1x's and compare both balls on the course.

    Most of us hit a metal wood off the tee, whether it be a driver, fairway or a hybrid. It all depends on the distance you wish to attain. Barry gave you some good advice about playing two ball for comparison. Also you gave us no details regarding your game, like your handicap, average score, type of equipment you play, etc. You might even consider the DT Trusoft.

    Thanks guys. My five wood is a TM burner and my handicap is about 13. I really play my game off distance got new swoosh Covert Irons back in the spring. Boosted my distance on all irons about 30 yards. To give an idea I hit my 7-iron about 150 with old irons. Hit it 180 now. A pitching wedge has now become my 150 club. As you may have assumed at this point, I don't have the best control. Just getting better as I go. Just my second summer as a golfer.

    Great advice up there. Take a sleeve of each out and see what you prefer. One might be longer, one might be straighter, one might be softer but distance and height the same. So many variables impact the decision, and it is a blast to do your own comparison (in my opinion).
