  1. Yes 60 round Southerness... a true links test. Ok so it was Winter tees and preferred lies and no wind or rain however my chipping and putting was akin to a certain Mr Spieth. Maybe these are the balls he uses?!

Congratulations on your round! That's a great score and well played. So, will you be stocking up on the new golf balls when they come to market in January/February? (I am asking that with my tongue firmly planted in cheek!)
  4. Yes Dwayne, for me the real difference was wedge distance control and putting - the ball has a GPS methinks!!! Btw I usually play Pro V1X - driving distance similar - slightly lower trajectory with Test ball.

Who cares if it is preferred lies and winter tees, that is still some round of golf.
  6. Thanks Dino. Truly a bizarre round as started in bright sunshine and after six holes played into a sea mist - course is a links on Solway Firth. I normally play Pro V1X - will definitely be switching to 2017 model - possibly V1 ( test ball is Black number?!)
  7. Thanks James - really appreciate your comment. This was one of the most bizarre rounds of my life - and I have played for 40 years!!! Started in sunshine and played through fog after six holes. Not sure if you have ever played at Southerness - if you are ever visiting let me know. It is a true old fashioned Championship Links. p.s. bring a brolly... and a wooly hat!!

"Bring a brolly and a wool hat" ... does that still apply in June and July? ;-D
I suspect that you may be correct ... Black numbers being the Pro V1. I tested the red number version earlier this autumn and simply loved it! I'm holding off until the end of January to pick up my 4 dozen golf balls!
  9. Thanks Dave... I can assure you my golf is usually more Jim Carrey than Jim Furyk... tho I do like the idea of sabotaging the US Ryder Cup team from within...!!!
  10. Indeed, we wear two wooly hats in Winter... and there is a St Bernard on standby in the Clubhouse armed with the local Malt...

I'm familiar with Southerness. Played it several times on business trips. A 60 on it is a truly outstanding accomplishment. Congrats!
  12. Thanks Greg... now those are the sort of "Business Trips" I want to be a part of... ;-) Hope we can welcome you at Southerness again soon... I will make sure that the Conference facilities (aka the 19th Hole situated in the proximity of the Bar area!!) are fully open and at your disposal...

Your name should be next to Jim Furyk .
