Did the new ProV's swap properties?

    When I was just looking over the new golf balls it appears that the properties of the new balls have swapped. It looks like the ProV1 is now the lower spinning of the two balls. Maybe I have been wrong in the past but I always thought the ProV1X was advertised as the lower spinning of the pair. I also could have read the new data incorrectly, misinterpreted what was intended, or could have just always been wrong. . . Team Titleist help!

    Yes, new product line. Switched it up.

    Thanks. I went out and got both. Gonna do a little testing to see which of the new balls fits my game better.

    Yeah, me too. Blind though. Just get both sleeves and put them in my bag not in the box (black el marko across the alignment line). Next time I play, just grab a ball and go but not look for the type so mentally there is no bias.

    I was fortunate to test both. After 3 cycles with the Pro-V1x, the new Pro-V1 was a definite winner for my game. I'm on the lower end of the speed range and gained distance over the previous Pro-V1, and the feel and performance around the greens was great. No doubt there is more to being new than just the packaging. Also the first time that a new version had a dramatic change that I could easily see from almost the first hole.

    The Prov-1 has more dimples than the Prov-X. Hence, more effective spin.

    The 2015 X has more spin separation, meaning low driver spin while maintaining high wedge spin.
    The 2017 Pro V1 has a new 2.0 core, the core is softer and reduces overall spin. IMO Both the V & X have the same cover and should spin the same on partial shots and short irons as the swing speed drops, we don't compress the core as much relying on the cover to stop the ball.

    Well, you got me confused. Not only introduce a new ball, Titleist switches the ball characteristics between V and X. Was wondering why I wasn’t getting the same performance.

    Might be time to switch balls to a company that doesn’t make a switch like that. Doesn’t make a lot of sense to me unless the competition is making you worried because your ball is no longer “the yard stick” by which others measure.
