Had an interesting discussion with my ophthalmologist today about colors and visibility. Basics of it were that white is not a visible color but that the yellow/green seen on safety vests is significantly easier to see in all conditions. With competitors rolling out that color on its tour level ball will Titleist or is tradition too much to overcome?

Hey Tim, if not answered already with the delay this site has on responses...I read recently that the proV’s unique cover does not allow for color to be added during the manufacturing process. However, the new AVX will be available in yellow.

Disregard my statement...what I read was an assumption rather than fact. Sorry haha.

AVX and TRU Soft have yellow offerings.

You should give AVX a shot, a pretty decent ball IMO...

Unlike tennis balls that changed almost overnight (I guess a ball coming at you at 150 mph is more critical than one going away) (and I remember white tennis balls), amber golf balls are not getting a strong hold on the pro tours. I see the occasional yellow ball roll across the green on a PGA event and when working a Champions event, I only see 2-3 in use across 90 players. That said, I'm satisfied with the AVX performance with the yellow version. Which I couldn't say with the tour balls from the competitors. I've tried them all - ...once.

AVX will answer all your problems and concerns.

But a dozen yellow and white.

    Compare/contrast.

You'll be pleasantly surprised and unexpectedly pleased!

I can't look at a different color golf ball other than white without thinking of miniature golf and those balls don't putt well. Lol. On a more serious side. The Trusoft is a good ball and comes in different colors. I have never played the AVX, I know my Pro V1 sometimes in the fall with the leaves in the rough can be hard to locate right off the bat.

The new AVX is a Tour level, urethane covered, lower spinning ball, which is available in high-optic yellow. I have played Pro Vs for years, religiously. The AVX is now in my mix. I played yellow ones all winter, but now that everything is greening up again, I am switching to the white AVX as well as Pro Vs, depending on the conditions of the day. AVX is awesome in wind.

Many ranges have yellow balls these days, so those of you that think you have issues with yellow, shouldn't. I, myself, will continue to play the white Pro V1. I just like the white contrast on the green putting greens.
