Since I live in the New England area, this week just happen to be school vacation. I wanted to do something a little bit different and unique with my family, so I decided I would sign up for a family tour of the Titleist Ball Plant III factory.
Yesterday, April 18th was our day..Scheduled for an 11:00 tour.
We arrived at the BPIII lot, and drove right into a reserved "Team Titleist" parking spot. Once we got to the front door and were checked in, we saw a TV screen with all of our names listed on the board welcoming us to BPIII and the inside tour.
We were immediately greeted with two familiar smiling faces. Both June and Hank walked right over and introduced themselves to my boys and wife and said thank you for joining us for the BPIII tour.
We started off with a quick video on the history of how Titleist started, how the ProV came to be, how the performance, design, and quality checks were really the basis for how important a ball is to one's game and how Titleist works with all levels of golfers to make the best ball for each individual's game.
As we started our to the floor, both June and Hank were guiding us along and explaining step by step how all of the magic comes together. As we were walking the floor during production, the Titleist staff working at each of their stations were clearly focusing on each of their work areas, but either made eye contact and smiled or stopped and would say hello or shake my boys hands. That is a personal touch that made a lasting impression on both of my boys. On the way home, they continued to talk about the jobs they saw the people doing and the first comment they said was that "Every person they saw or met on the tour had a smile and seemed to really enjoy their job". They also remembered that Hank mentioned how long the average team member had worked for Titleist and said, "Boy they must really love their jobs", I think I would like to work at Titleist when I finish school".
I could go on and on about all of the neat things within the factory, but most of all I want to thank all of the Titleist family for opening this tour up to the public, it is just AWESOME and I STRONGLY recommend that you get a tour if you get a chance.
Also, Just want to call out specifically June, Hank, Rick and Dan G for making my family feel so welcome and we really appreciate your hospitality.
You all have provide a great impression for my kids, and I cant thank all of you enough for allowing us into part of your great organization!
All the best,
-Brian
