The Pro-V1 is already not as soft a feel as the other brands marketed that tend to appeal to the demographics of the typical slower swing speeds. Doubtful that the harder feel Pro-V1x would have much appeal in that group.

Don. I believe the point is that Titleist just released their "pink out" series of items for sale including a limited release of ProV1's with pink numbers in honor of breast cancer survivors. Tyler was hoping they would make the same available in the ProV1x since he now is fitted for that ball, same as me. I'm sure that's the demographic you are referring to since we have slow swing speeds? The pink number was not made just to appeal to women. As Tyler indicated, there are many of us that have felt the impact of breast cancer and would show support. I have several golf shirts in pink with pink ribbons on the sleeve. I am sure the decision to limit the pink numbers to just ProV1 was based on overall projected sales so they wouldn't have a significant stock of left-overs and the cost impact to running special order items through the factory line for multiple ball versions. I don't expect it was a decision that ProV1 is made for women and ProV1x is made for men. Actually, the new characteristics of the ProV1x would fit more average women's play with the higher ball flight and more spin. Like all decisions at Titleist, I'm sure it was economics, not demographics that drove their choice.

Well said Dale. Have my share of the pink shirts and picked up a number of the pink ribbon pins a number of years ago. My mother in law is breast cancer survivor. Can only imagine the pain those wonderful ladies go thru. Any support we can give them, they deserve. Pink out in any form when we can, if only with a pink sharpie. After all, it's only a golf ball. With respect......

ProV is overrated by performance and price. I played the Kirkland, TP5 and Bridgestone B RX. It performed just as well if not better and I don’t have to give up a arm to buy the balls

Thank you both for the conversation and I think Dale is spot on on his reasoning for only the one model being available with the pink number. I played my first round today with the V1x and can honestly say that I really liked it. All except the red number :) which will probably take some time to get used to. If I remember correctly, there is a pink ribbon available as one of the customization options and will probably wait for the next Loyalty Rewarded event and stock up then.

Also, if either of you are in the Phoenix area during October, I host the local TCC Pink Ribbon Challenge event and there is an event headcover designed by Scotty Cameron that can be ordered.

My comment was purely the economics of the marketing feasibility. Even when I used the X, I have had pink V balls (I think the ones are only a pink number) for my wife to use while she still played. At her clubhead speed, softness is preferable over the benefit of the X. Which is really no benefit at that speed. Titleist doesn't advertise a donation as part of the purchase, so I didn't make the connection. I support causes both directly and when proceeds go to the organization, like a charity scramble. So I'll buy a pink or yellow ribbon or wrist band for $20, since that is more of a direct benefit. I, in no way, intended or implied people not show support for what their loved ones have had to deal with.

My wife is a 2 TIME breast Cancer survivor. I have several pink shirts that I wear during the month of October which is National breast Cancer Awareness Month. I will be getting a dozen pink number Pro V1's that I will game during the month of October.
