In a recent survey of Titleist golf ball players, 64 percent of golfers on the PGA TOUR, LPGA, DP World Tour and Korn Ferry Tour said they regularly use a marking on their golf ball to help with alignment. Of the college golfers surveyed, 73 percent said they regularly use a marking for alignment.

Many players including Wyndham Clark, Celine Boutier, Viktor Hovland and Lydia Ko draw a single line on their golf ball, similar to the marking that inspired Pro V1 and Pro V1x Performance Alignment. Some players such as Tony Finau and Tom Kim draw multiple alignment markings, while others, like Ludvig Åberg, simply use the Pro V1 or Pro V1x sidestamp to line up their putts.

Titleist offers more than 40 different alignment aid designs through custom order on Titleist.com, including Enhanced Alignment and Performance Alignment golf balls. Our lineup of alignment-focused golf balls are designed to improve confidence, aim and accuracy.

Honestly, I use the arrow on the driver off the tee and it has worked for me. Same with the line on my putter. Guess I am old school. Do not like a lot of distractions, too me, on my ball. I like the clean white side. I have a lot of friends who like them.

Having borderline OCD with golf, I take the time to extend the alignment mark with a marker. Especially when I expect a putt to break, I use the alignment to focus on direction when I can’t find a spot on the green to aim at.
If I played more golf and lost more balls, I might purchase alignment balls, but using less than a dozen a month, the time to personalize the balls is minimal.

I use the alignment aid on putts only

I guess I'm like Ludvig, I use the Pro V1x marking. Occasionally, when I'm using a personalized ball, I'll use the personalization as my alignment tool. Overall, I'd say it helps a bit, but not immensely. I frequently, especially on shorter second putts, just putt the ball as it lies. I haven't noticed a significant difference between scores using the alignment or not using it.

I am a big fan of the enhanced alignment balls. It does help greatly to get those putts headed in the right direction. May not make them all but they are getting closer to the hole.

I use a line to line up my putts but I have also seen players line up their putts and then readjust multiple times which can also cause over thinking a putt and slow play.

While I do line up putts with my ball alignment, I rarely realign the ball if I don’t like the line when over the ball. I might back off for a second look, but then hit the new line visually. Golfers holding up fingers and standing feeling slope for a double bogey can annoy me. If it isn’t for a birdie, …come on already.

Haven’t used the actual alignment balls yet, as the extra cost puts me off.

If they were the same price, then I’d very likely use them. Only ever use the sidestamp at the minute, but do imagine a longer line could be more useful…especially putting

Im with Chuck. I use alignments on my equipment as well to alleviate distractions. Just the way I am -

I cannot line up my putt correctly using an alignment line on my golf ball.
I line putt, I look at the hole trace my line back to my ball & putt once my eyes get there.

The only time I spot putt is downhill or side hill putts. then I putt to a spot or apex for proper distance
    and roll.

So, I just center the ball with my line on my putter head.

I have tried but either tilt the ball left or right. Too much work for putting.

As for off the tee. I use parallel lines on the ground, shoulders & hips for alignment
I place the ball just outside the arrow on my driver head. This seems to work for me.

I have a playing partner that draws a line & putts using it.
We are both good putters with two different styles & mindsets.

  12. I play the Pro V1 yellow so the alignment ball isn’t available to me! Soon hopefully?
