Hey TT- I just purchased a 21 degree R11 hybrid that's adjustable. I also have an 18 degree 5 wood in my bag. The next club down from my hybrid is my 4 iron. Is this ok?

That actually is a good setup. 21H is a 3 iron. Strong 5W and 2 iron are same.

Expounding on my previous reply..... I have a 21 deg Burner 7 wood in my bag (I have been swearing by 20-21 deg fairway woods since 2006 - easier to hit on the fairway vs an 18 deg wood and sometime actually has a lower trajectory and little diff in distance). I recently got a 4/22 Rescue Mid 2K9 to bridge the gap between the 7W and 5H (I had been choking down on the 7 wood to hit the inbetween shots). My guess is that you would have a 15 yard gap either side of the 21. At this point, I have a 20 yard gap between the 7W and 5H. The estimate is that a wood goes about 5-10 yards farther (and a little higher trajectory) vs a hybrid of the same loft and the latter goes 5-10 yards farther than an iron of the same loft. True in some cases but not always in others; for instance, I hit a 7 wood 10 yards farther than a 21H but hit a 26 deg 5H the same or slightly better than a 9 wood. I've heard of some people who could hit a 17H farther than a 3 wood (I actually hit my 7 wood the same distance as a 17H).

    andy,

seems okay, except that your hybrid isn't a 910h :)

you might get responses saying that you should have added another wedge, but if you're comfortable with your setup and cover all your yardage gaps, then i don't see a problem with adding a 21* to replace your 3 iron.

    good luck and play well!
