I just got a set of AP2 712 3-PW and of course im looking for a 2i hybrid to fill the gap between the 3 iron and 3 wood.  I've been looking around at hybrids, and i think ive narrowed it down to titleist and tm.  For both companies I am looking at the previous models, the 909H 19* and the burner 2.0 19* as well as the 910H 19* and the R11s 19* hybrid and superfast 19*.  The thing I like about tm is they put a marker on their club to line up the ball with, and for some reason titleist doesnt, as well as tm is known to hit the furthest.  If I were to get Titleist i would probably get the 909 as opposed to the 910 as I dont need the adjustability that I'd be paying for in the 910 since I know I want and will always use it as a 2 iron hybrid.  Any recommendations?

2H should be about 17* loft. You ought to do a side by side comparison of a 2H and a 5W. I personally hit a 7 wood about the same distance as a 2H.

Lou thanks for the advice, I think I prefer the 2H to the 5 wood just because of its playability out of the rough.  I am thinking of titleist now thanks to advice, yet I will not know what loft yet.

Dan, I have the 909 and the 910 hybrids, and prefer the 910. As for Tm Hybrids being longer that's all marketing. Tm makes these claims that their clubs hit it so much longer when really their clubs are either stronger lofted or longer. Trust me Titleist has much better shafts than TM.
  5. Couple of thoughts come to mind. First, if the TM does indeed go further, which would better fill you gap? And re adjustability: even if used always as a 2H, might not a tweak help better fill, the gap? Finally, TM makes nice stuff, but the fit/finish of the Titleist is a cut above, IMO. Not as important as playability, of course, but a factor.

The 910H is the best hybrid I've ever played. I have the 17* and I love it.

I'd agree with Tyler on the 17H. I personally would lean toward carrying a 5 wood, since I hit a fairway wood better than a long hybrid (I hit my 7 wood just as far as a 17H). My winning combo on the fairway long game for almost 6 years has been a 7 wood and 5H/lofted wood (I actually carried a Louisville persimmon 10 wood for almost a year and a half until I latched on to a Sumo SQ 5/26 that I just beat the daylights out of; back in 2007-2009 I had a ratty little Puma 29 deg 9 wood that I could hit almost 200 yards). I have a strong 5 wood to cover the gap between my driver and 7W.

I am also considering getting the tm due to the fact that my 3 wood and driver are tm

I have a Burner driver, 5 and 7 wood. I had a 2/17 Rescue TP (with the Flight Control Technology) I tried out and it got the same distance as my 7 wood. I've been hooked on 7 woods since 2006 (played with an Orlimar Trimetal reshafted to DG R300, Titleist 975F w/ R300, Warbird Heavenwood and my Burner 2K7). I also have a Louisville 5/21 persimmon wood I occasionally bust out. If you think about it for a minute, a 2 hybrid and a 7 wood are pretty much close in lie angle and shaft length (for instance the 910H is 41* length with a lie angle of 57*; my persimmon 5W is exactly that and my other 7 woods are/were 41.5" with a 58* lie angle).
