  1. If i have a 15 degree 3 wood what hybrid loft would be good to gap before the 4 irons and after the 3 wood?

I'm not sure if I understand the (before 4 iron and after 3 wood), but I use two hybrids "between the 4iron and 3 wood. Everyone's swing and distance varies, but for me, that range of clubs is as follows: 4 iron, 21 degree Titleist 909H, 19 degree Titleist 909H, 15 degree Titleist 909F. I actually carry four wedges and leave my 4 iron at home. I choke up on the 21 degree hybrid for my 4 iron distance. So I'm actually jumping from the 5 iron to the 21 degree hybrid. I love my hybrids and they bridge the 5 iron - 3 wood gap quite well. I prefer the distance accuracy of the four wedge setup and will sacrifice the distance accuracy of my 5 thru 3 wood setup. Throughout the course of 18 holes, I'll use my wedges far more than my hybrids.

BRAD  GET OUT OF MY BAG!!!   LOL    SOUNDS LIKE WE PRETTY MUCH HAVE THE SAME SET UP. 5I  /  21 DEGREE 910 H / 18 DEGREE 5WD /13.5 DEGREE 3WD BUT I ONLY CARRY 3 WEDGES.  BUT BACK TO THE QUESTION  MY OPINION  FIND AT LEAST ONE IF NOT TWO HYBRIDS FOR THAT DISTANCE GAP

19 deg would be a 3H. Why not try a 7 wood (21*)? It actually gets slightly more distance than a 3H. Reason I say that is some people find a fairway wood easier to hit vs a long hybrid. I actually hit a 7 wood the same distance as a 2H. There is very little difference in lie angle and club length between the two (a typical 7 wood is 41.5-42" and lie angles around 58*; the 910H has a shaft length of 41" and lie angle of 57*).

My long and middle club complement is driver-strong 5 (18)-7W (21)-5H (26) -7H (34). Iron setup is 6-9 and 4 wedges (50-54-58-62). I do a choke shot with the 7W and 5H to cover the gaps. There is no value added in carrying a 4H since the distance diff between it and the 5H is 5 yards with perfectly hit shots. I don't carry a 3 wood because I actually hit the 5 wood the same distance. I use the 7H in place of the 6 and 7 irons on the par 3s and out of the rough or in fairway bunkers.
  6. I have 3 wedges in my bag i have a 3 wood 15 degrees and i have no problems with the 4 iron i just need the loft that would be more than a 4 iron but less than a 3 wood if that makes any sense.

The 4I is probably around 24 degrees and the FW is 15 degrees. The 910H options are 24-21-19 (2H/3H/4H) and the 910F options are 21-19-17 (4W/5W7W). The 910s can be adjusted from +1.5 to -.75 degrees of loft. If the Iron and Fairway are carved in concrete, you should try the 19 degree in both versions and see what your distance gap is. Also, get checked for loft and travel of the 4I and 3W. Not many golfers can get the 3W off the deck and might do better with a 17F at 17 or 16.5 and a 21H at 20.25. Your game, your clubs. Regardless of others experiences, it's what you hit best that matters.

Somewhere around 17-18. Same approx distance as a 7 wood. Most 4 irons are 22-24*

I have the same gap problem so I think this is a great question.  I used to carry two hybrids, 20 and 23.  I wanted to merge those into one so I could add a gap wedge.  I added a 21* and have it set to 20.25* and it seems to work okay, but if I have it to do over again I add a 19* and have the ability to add up to 1.5* of loft.  The fact that the 910H can be adjusted makes it a great club to have in the bag.  Good luck with whatever you decide is best for you.

  12. Good idea mike. i was gonna do that with a 19 and move it up to like 20 and if thats short i can back dow or higher.

Yes, a 19* fairway wood will be about equal to 17* hybrid, except it will fly higher.

Trying to have a loft gap between types of clubs just doesn't work.

For all the same reasons you hit a hybrid longer than the same loft iron, you will hit a fairway wood longer than the same loft hybrid.

So yes a 17* hybrid should fit right about the middle between a 15* fairway wood and 4i.

Here's the thing you can do to see what you like best. Take a 910F 19 and 21 fairway wood and a 910H 17H and do a side by side comparison ("shootout") for distance, direction and workability (draws, fades, stingers, choke shots, etc). Remember that the 19 has a shaft length of 42" and lie angle of 58, the 21 has shaft length of 41.5 and lie angle of 58.5 and the 17H has shaft length of 41 and lie angle of 57.75. The reason I say this is that some are going to tell you that hybrids are the greatest thing since sliced bread and others will tell you that fairway woods are the way to go. I found out in 2006 that I fare better with a 20/21 degree fairway wood vs a 2 or 3H. The 4H is of little added value since I hit a 5H only maybe 5 yards less.

Just make it easy, get a 19* 910h. It is fully afjustable +/- 1.5 degrees. Choose your own loft

Before I would spend $200+ on a golf club, I would want to make sure it is the ONE. The minimum I would do is hit the 17* and 19* 910h and a 21* 910F on the launch monitors at the golf shop or do a fitting session with the 3. Gotta think outside the box. Long hybrids may not be for everyone (I have a friend who still carries a standard 3 iron because he hits it better than a hybrid). I have found that the 7 wood best suits my needs for the distances between 170-190 yards. I've been using one since 2006 and briefly went the route of a 5 wood and some form of a lofted wood until the end of 2010 (I have been using my Burner 7 wood since then; in late 2010, I was using a 980F 3 wood and Louisville Niblick persimmon 5/21 wood - found my 7W hit the same distance as the 980F). Between the early part of 2010 and a year ago I was using a persimmon Louisville Niblick 10W with 40" shaft and 58* lie angle and I beat it to death and could work it between 140-165 yards; I still have it at home but replaced it with a Sumo SQ 5/26 hybrid that I am pretty deadly with and can make the green on a certain 175 yard slightly downhill par 3.

  17. i need it for 200 + yards like 215 range so i picked 19 so i can always adjust it high or low
