  1. I am currently playing some DCI 962s and thinking about getting a new set.  I'm not really sure about what the new technologies are on the newer iron sets.  How would my DCIs compare to some newer models and how would the newer models help me improve my game? I am a 4 handicap and was debating between the CB and MB models, but am open to AP1s or AP2s, as well.

The 7123 AP2s are a top seller because they feature rather remarkable forgiveness and look very much like a traditional forged iron at address. The 712 AP2 is just as forgiving as a 710 AP1... that gives you and idea behind the technology under the hood! I'd highly recommend a fitting and giving the 712 AP2 a shot. It's almost like cheating. :) RC
  3. I agree with RC. The new 712 AP2 is a fantastic club. More forgiveness, better looks, awesome feel and feedback, workable...all in one club. Amazing. Like he said, go to your local Titleist rep to get fitted for your new clubs. I've fit quite a few people for the AP2's, however...one of my customers needed more forgiveness in his long irons, so, we decided to fit him with AP1's for his 3 and 4 irons, and AP2's for the rest. The custom fitting options are endless. If you have anymore questions, we'll be glad to help you out.

I have the 7,9,P AP1 irons (anybody that reads my posts throughout the forums probably knows I have a rather unusual golf setup and carry 5/26 and 7/34 hybrids in place of the middle irons. I really like the AP1s and gained one club vs my Eye 2s mainly because the loft of the AP1 7 iron is the same as that of the Eye 2 6 iron. First time on the golf course with the AP1s was Friday and put the 7 iron on the green from the 150 markers with about a 6 foot birdie putt. We'll see how things go with the 9 and P.

Here's something to think about.... according to the spec sheet, a DCI 762 8 iron is 40* and a 9 iron is 44*. DCI 981 is 39 and 43, respectively. Eye 2 is 40 and 45. The difference between my Eye 2 and 981 8 and 9s were about 2 yards. An AP1 9 iron is 41* and the PW is 45*. I get the same distance out of the AP1 9 iron as I do out of the Eye 2 8 iron and about 2 yards more from the AP1 PW as I do from the Eye 2 9 iron.
