What model wedge would you guys recommend for a 3-4 handicap who plays in a fair amount of tournaments. I'm trying to decide between the SM4s and Spin Milled but don't know which ones to go with. Also, do the SM4s spin nearly as much due to the new grooves? Thanks.

I went with the SM4''s. Aside from the new conforming grooves, I liked the profile and setup at address. Try them both out. You won't go wrong with Vokeys!

I am a 3-4 handicapper who plays quite a few tournaments. I find the new grooves spin just as much as the old grooves. From what I've read, the old grooves could get you some spin out of the wet rough that the pros play and might help avoid a few fliers, but the difference seems to be beyond me. Hitting off the fairway they still spin like crazy and controlling the spin can be more of a challenge than stopping the ball. I use the 54 and 58 with quite a bit of bouce because I think as a 3 handicapper, 58 is more reliable than a 60 and bounce is your friend. If you're able to slide a 4 degree bouce 60 degree wedge under a ball on a bare lie to sit it down next to a pin tucked tight over a bunker why aren't you a plus 3 instead of a 3? Of couse you can't do that reliably and I can't either and that's why I like the 58 12. I like the M grind allow for easy chipping wihtout having to give up your bounce. --Jerry

The Spin-milled CC may spin a little more than SM4's but you can only use them in certain tournaments. Also, on your approach are you normally short or long of the pin. If you're almost always short then use SM4's if you almost always long then get SM4's. They have spin and the difference between the SM4's and the CC's is almost undetectable.
