I am currently playing a 9.5 degree 905R with an S-flex Proforce V2 shaft. I have a fairly fast swing speed (121 mph when last measured) and the 905 really will deliver on purely stuck shots. The only complaint I have is the lack of forgiveness. Many times, I take penalties from shots that come off great but fly high and just draw a little too much. I know more spin can be a product of how fast you swing the club but I am only looking for a bit less side spin off the tee.

I'm wondering if anyone can give me some insight as to the forgiveness of the 910 drivers (preferably vs. the 905R with a similar swing speed- but anything is appreciated). I'm thinking about an 8.5 degree 910 D2 with the same shaft. My current driver is a hand me down and I'm planning to get one that's fitted to me. My only problem is the closest place to get fitted is 2 hours away and I don't want to take the trip if it isn't worth it.

    any help is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

I am a 5 handicap, and driving accuracy is probably my weakness.  My swing speed is around 110.  I am currently playing the 910D2, and I can honestly say it is the best driver I have hit in 10 years.  My last 2 rounds were at courses I have never played, but I only missed 4 fairways and shot 77 and 79.  The scores were higher due to my lack of familiarity with the greens.  I 3 putted 8 times in those two rounds.  In my personal opinion, the 910 would benefit you with the adjustability.  I got a 10.5 with the Mitsubishi Kai Li shaft.  I play it at 9.25 when it is dry, but if it is wet out, I can get more carry by adjusting the loft.  Your ball flight has a lot to do with the shaft that is in the club.  With your swing speed, you need an X flex shaft with low torque.  You could stay with the 9.5 in the 910 and adjust it if you need to.  I definitely think a the 910 is worth a look.  I swear by it.  I would look at the Mitsubishi Ahina or Project X shafts.  Just make sure you are getting the right launch angle, and these shafts combined with the adjustable head of the 910 should give you the best back spin, decent angle, and eliminate some of the side spin you are getting with your current driver.
