Has anyone hit the new 915 hybrids or bought a couple? I've never been a hybrid player as I have the length to get away with not having one on most courses and use the four wedge system. (47,52,56,60). However I'm thinking about picking one up to replace a wedge on longer courses.

    Any thoughts?

Ah yeah.  Can't say enough good things about the 915hs.  I currently carry three hybrids in my bag.  I got rid of my 69* wedge about six months ago.  Sold it so I would not be tempted to put it back it.  The new 915s are off the chart on accuracy and distance.  The WOW factor is there.  Well worth the money and a must for everyone looking for the money club.  The longest iron I carry in my bag is a 5 iron.  The hybrids are much easier to hit when it comes to accuracy.  I mainly use my 913F 15* set @ 14,25 off the tee for short par 4s or on tight fairways and then my 915h off the fairways and in the rough.  The difference in distance is not that noticeble from the fairways.  The 915s are hot.

    Here are my choices:  915h 2 (set at 71.25) 913h 17* (set 18.5) 913h 24* (set a 23.25*).

Our home course has one par 3 that I just don't have a club for, so I planning on tinkering with my bag a little.  I just picked up a 915H 18*.  I haven't had a chance to use it on the course yet, but I was killing it in demo.  If all goes as planned, I'll pull my 913F for all but the longest of courses, and go with the 915H, a 910H 19* set to 20.5* and a 913H 24* set to 23.25*.  The rest of the bag will be 5 iron-PW, plus 52*, 56* and 60* wedges.

George t like your thinking.  As you will notice I have the same set up and love it.  I also have the 910H and have it set at 20.5 and at times will throw it in the bag and take out the 913F depending on the length of the course.  The new 915h 17.25 is killer long.  Problably the only difference in our set up is in our wedges.  I use a SM4 50.8 and a SM5 56.10...I sold my 60* so I would not tempted to use it......just could not count on it......my 50 is my money club.......

  6. Make sure you go hit them before you purchase.  I was able to hit the driver, and the 3 wood, but not the 915h.  I liked the other 2 so much, I just ordered the 915h in the same degree as my 913h was.  21*.  I have a short par 4 that's only about 225 yards with a tight fairway at 1 of the courses I play a lot.  Used to be able to roll my 913h up to the green if I hit it straight.  I hit my 915h there the other day, and went over the green.  Was lucky to make par after that shot.  If I would have hit that on the range, I would have bought a 24* instead.  Now I've got about a 35 yard gap between my 4 iron, and my 3 hybrid.  I can't say it's a bad thing that it goes 10-15 yards longer than the 913, but it's going to take some getting used to.

I agree totally with Cliff.  I purchased a 915h 2 which is the new 18* loft and delofted it to a 17.25.  Found it to be real long as well.  Took my 913h 17* and increased the loft to an 18.50* and this works well in my bag.  That new one is just super long.

Chuck & Cliff - Thanks for sharing your experience with the 915H.  I'm looking to replace my 3 wood and fairway wood with something that is easier to hit without compromising on distance, and I think 915H or 915HD might just be the club.

Do not know you skill level, but the hd is much harder to hit, smaller head, and has a lower trajectory.....for me with the Aldila Black Rogue 85 S the 915h 2 set up stayed pretty much on line with a soft draw and long.......I hit the same set up with the 915hd 17* low and with a cut, which I did not like and away from the target line.......of course everyone's swing is different......my clubhead swing is in the low 90s and my ball speed is around 133...a senior at 68, for sure......

Ill be getting a fitting for the entire 915 series and plan on getting set up with 2 or maybe 3 of the 915h's. As Im really not a long iron hitter, the hybrids are a huge part of my game.

So talking reading what you guys that have experience with them has really got me excited to try them out.

    Thanks for everyones input.

Great insight Chuck, thanks again for that!  I actually picked the game back up earlier this year after 5 years or so, but has gotten some help from a very good instructor so my swing has improved.  Swing speed around 100 and goes to 100+ after a proper warm-up, so I should be ok in terms of distance if I select the right loft (based on your comment the club is long).  No doubt I will be fitted for the club so I'll have a chance to hit both the 915h and hd and see which works better.

I can't wait to actually get the 915H 2 onto the course.  This past year, I was so inconsistent with my 3 wood, which is funny, since I used to be just the opposite - steady with a FW and inconsistent with a hybrid.   Surely a confidence thing.  But if this 915H goes as well as I hope, I'll pull the 3 wood out and go with 3 hybrids before my 5 iron.

    Hey Brandon,

I play the same wedge set up as you, with my longest iron being a 4.  I just got the 915Hd 17.5degree, 915Fd 3wood and 915 D3.  I love the hybrid, and this set up has always just worked for me.  The 915 hybrids would be a great choice if you need a longer club for longer courses.  Definitely go hit them and see what you think.

    Best,

    Andrew
