    Dalby,

I've just upgraded from the 913d2 to a 915d3 . I can't shape the ball at all I just fade or slice the 915. I was recommended the D3 by a titleist rep. I was sold the diamana red shaft but had trouble then went back to my 913 shaft hit it better but no where near my normal shape. Has anyone else encountered this trouble after upgrading or is it just me doing something wrong. I was told to increase the loft which I did I hit it sweeter but still have trouble . Any thoughts ?

The D3 is designed more for more work-ability.  If you are hooking and slicing the ball instead of drawing or fading the ball, you might be over swinging.   I went from the D3 to the D2 and went to a fade then to a hook.  Opened the face .5* and now am hitting with a slight cut.  Had to choose between a draw or a cut with my D2.  If I over-swing my old D3 or my new D2 I can produce a huge hook.  I try to swing at 80 percent if I can.  That is just me.  But by opening the face I can hit it a little harder with less damage. You get in less trouble with a slight cut.

Did you -used- to 'shape the ball', but now you can't? Is that why the rep recommended D3 for you, because you were desiring more workability?

Here is the chart that is available on line and I had one that came with my kit when I bought my 910D3.

    Chart right

Lets assume your driver is a RH D2 9.50 and you have increased the loft to 10.25 or +.75 which would be a D4 setting.  If you wanted to increase the draw on the face you would set it at C3 and if that was not enough then you could set it at D3.......I hope this makes sense and it might resolve you problem unless you have an alignment problem and I would suggest you see a teaching pro.....D3s do have more workability to them.....even with mine set at C4 .05 open I can still draw the ball and if I swing too hard I can really hook it.......hard swing bad alignment....good luck with your adjustment tool and remember one click.......cz

    Dalby,

Hi guys, thanks for your thoughts. I am still struggling with ball flight on the 915 . I must admit I didn't do a lot af homework on the difference between D2 and D3 when I ordered the 915. I am getting put on a tech lab this week to check on a few things but I think the bottom line is I'll need to tighten my swing up to utilize the workability of the D3 . I can't blame a driver for a bad swing, I'll just keep working on it for now. Cheers
