I recently replaced my 712U 3 and 4 Iron with 816 H2 19 and 21 Hybrids. I was able to play this past weekend, and I have to say the hybrids outperformed any expectation I could have ever had of a golf club. To be honest I am taking my 3 wood out of my bag. The 19* is set down .75*, it is playing at 18.25*, and the 21* is set at 21*. With the 19*, I had multiple tee shots that went 240-250 yards in soft wet conditions. From the fairway I was hitting it 225+. The 21* seemed to be carrying a decent distance as well, much further than I would have expected. Both hybrids were longer than my 3 or 4 irons. I am considering bumping the loft on the 21* a little higher to help with the gap from my 5 iron. Has anyone else seen a jump in distance from their long irons to hybrids? My playing partners were amazed. I stopped hitting my driver, because it made no sense to hit it with the length and accuracy of these clubs. Bravo Titleist!

I think the 816 H2 is a fabulous club I have it at 21 * it just seems so easy to hit totally agree with your verdict.

I have the H2 19, and LOVE it. Unfortunately for me , the plan was to replace my 2-3 iron with it. Wrong!. I can BOMB this thing....LOL

If I'm not mistaken, the loft adjustments on the H2's are in 1* increments and not the .75* like the 910 drivers and fwy clubs.

    Bigmoochi,
You're the second person that I've seen posts from stating they have their 816 set .75* up/down. How did you do that, since they a suppose to adjust up/down in 1* increments? Are you using a shaft with a 915H adapter?

Michael/Barry you are correct. I was using the old adjustment chart! I just searched for the new one and it is 1* increments. Guys these hybrids are long! I am amazed at the length! They are still very forgiving and workable. I dont know if it just fit for my swing, but I am having fun with them! I am thinking about finding the Speeder Tour Spec VC 7.2 shaft for my driver. Im hoping to have the same results!

    Bigmoochi,
Thanks, now I understand. I haven't tried the 816 yet, but plan to soon. I switched to hybrids about 15 years ago (before Titleist introduced their first one) and haven't looked back since. Currently using 913H's, which are pretty darn good also, so I am really looking forward to trying the 816.

I seem to be having the opposite happening. I have new 716 ap1 w/ Nippon shafts and 816 21 &. 23. I'm hitting the irons and the hybrids a club shorter than my 714 irons and 913 hybrids. They seemed fine during fitting but it's just not happening on course. I'm baffled

I hear you guys loud and clear. I can't wait to get a couple 816s in my bag. I'll probably go with the 816 H1s. I have been useing another brand set at 21 and23 degrees. I'm sure the Titleist brands will blow them away.
    Play Well,

I have three 913 hybrids and considering the upgrade to 2016s. Has anyone made a similar change? If so what differences have you seen? Increased distance? Ball flight changes? Thanks!

I've been playing the 910's with a "if it's not broke, don't fix it" mentality.
It's still not broke, but with the introduction of the 816H2, it's time...What a perfect looking club. I've been fitted and will be getting the 19 degree with the Speeder shaft to replace my current 19 with the Diamana.
I've actually replaced my 21 degree with 712u 3 iron (Aerotech Steel Fiber Composite shaft) hoping to combat the high ball flight with something a little more penetrating and controllable. I use this as more of a specific distance club than the 19 which is generally a driving iron or long approach club.
Looking forward to the upcoming season...as I sit hear on a -8 degree morning.
