  1. Dear Titleist,

First of all I would like to compliment you for making such good clubs over the years and finally I made the right choice by using your clubs.

I recently just purchased your Titleist AP1 and everything I have to say about that club is just good. I’ve been using your Scotty Cameron Select Newport 2 for as long as my golfing career and I would never regret purchasing my first TItleist iron set.

The iron set which I purchased consists of 5-W and looking at the information provided on the website, the Pitching wedge is at 43 degree loft and Wedge at 47 degree loft.

Now I have a few questions which I would like to ask from Titleist which I hope could help me answer.

    First of all I’m looking at: 1. Titleist 915 D2 driver 10,5 2. Titleist 915f fairway wood 3 & 5 3. TItleist 816 H1 4 4. Titleist Bob Vokey wedges 52/56/60

I hit my 7 iron around 134-140 yards I hit my 9 iron around 115-125 yards I hit my Pitching Wedge around 95-100 yards I hit my Wedge around 85-90 yards

Could you please assist me on which club which I should buy as I can only bring 5 more clubs.

Thanks and looking forward from nearing you soon.

    Regards,

    Jodie

  2. Jodie, wow great question! If I understood your question correctly, you need to drop one of the clubs you are considering for purchase. I would consider dropping 52 and 56 and picking up a 54 (bent to 53), I think that will solve your dilema.

    Good Luck!

    Hi Jodie,

That's an interesting question and I'm a bit confused on what you are asking. Are you asking which clubs you should get from what you are listing; driver, 3 & 5 wood, hybrid and wedges?

I would suggest not getting a 3 & 5 wood, as most people would get more distance from a 5-wood because it has more loft. I would suggest a 5-wood at a 3-wood length (whatever you normally play your 3-wood at). Then I wouldn't consider the 52/56/60 combo, since you would have too many wedges and there wouldn't be a real distance gap to use them all.

Since you hit your W 85-90 yards, as Chris92009 suggested, get a 54* (bent to 53*) and use that from 85-yards and in. This would free up a lot of space in your bag and then you can add in a lob wedge later (58* or 60* bent to 59*, which gives you a 6* separation) if you wanted.

You should try and get fitted and see what the distance between your driver, fairway wood(s) and hybrid is also.

Let us know what you decide about your club selection. Love to hear what ended up in your bag.

I would drop the 60 degree, you can still use the 56 out of the sand but from your yardages it seem that you need to maintain distance and not so much shorter shots that a 60 degree will give you. A 56 is still versatile around the greens & in the sand by opening & closing the face. But you are limited with a 60 once you reach I'd say 30-40yds based on what you say your wedge is (47 degree) & you hit approx. 85-90. You can use the 56 more than I think you would the 60 degree. Another thing to do is (I have 5 wedges) I take out different ones based on what course I play. Some of the shorter courses I use higher lofted wedges & longer ones I use ones with less loft. But if you only want to get what you need for all applications I'd drop the 60 degree.

Hope this helps Jodie.....Great question though.

I agree with Darryl. Drop the 60. With your 47 wedge at 85-90 yds, your 52 will probably go 70-75, and 56 deg up to 55-60 yds. Do you really need a 60 that will only go 45 yds? The 56 should be versatile enough to use around the greens and sand traps. Keep the longer woods in the bag to help with distance.
