I recently added the following Titleist clubs to my bag:

    Titleist 716 AP1 5-PW Titleist SM6 wedges 50, 55, 60 Titleist 816 H1 #3 and #4

I played my first round with my new clubs today and I’m so glad that I decided to add these clubs to my bag! I got stuck in traffic on the way to the course, so I didn’t get to warm-up before heading out on the course. I ended up shooting an 82 today (I’m about a 15-18 handicap) on a difficult course that I’ve never played before. I love my new Titleist clubs!!!!!!

The first thing that I noticed with the Titleist AP1s is that they were very easy for me to hit and even my mishits traveled a good distance. I also noticed immediately that the AP1s are about a half a club to a club longer then my previous clubs (Swoosh). For the first few holes (with the AP1s) I was hitting the back of the green or flew the green. As the round progressed, I was able to adjust my club selection and started putting the ball near the hole. I really love the ball flight with these clubs!

My previous wedges were Titleist Vokey SM4 wedges, so I was already a fan of Vokey wedges. After playing a round with my new SM6 wedges, I’m even a bigger fan of Vokey wedges! I was able to stop the ball on the green very quickly. In addition, I hit a couple of shots that landed on the green and spun backwards toward the hole (I have never been able to do that before). I was only in the bunker one time and I easily hit out of the bunker and landed the ball near the hole.

I’ve never used hybrids before, so I was a little apprehensive about putting some hybrids in my bag. I’m definitely glad that I added the 816 Hybrids to my bag!!! They’re so easy to hit! I used them off the tee and I got a nice high penetrating ball flight (I was able to draw and fade my tee shots with no problem). The high penetrating ball flight definitely helped me hitting from the fairways. On a Par 5, after hitting driver off the tee, I was able to pull out my hybrid and put it on the green and stop it. It was kind of nice putting for an eagle (I missed the putt, but I did get the birdie). I didn’t miss a shot with the 816 Hybrids.

This was my first time on the course this season and the first time hitting my new clubs, but I excited to see that my new clubs are already leading me to lower scores……..Below you will find a pic of my bag.

I love this post BigWilley. I think our bags are going to be very similar but you're way ahead of me. At this point I only have the SM6 wedges 50, 54 and 58 and the H1 in 23. But the AP1's are on my mind.

The H1 was just put in the bag Friday for a Saturday round, and it was the star of the day. we were playing in windy conditions and a lot of uphill shots, so I had a lot of 170 to 180 distances. I hit it solid all day. Best shot of the day was from 160 uphill into a strong breeze with a blind green, it's the no. 1 handicap hole and I put it to 15 feet when everyone else was going bogey or worst.

I missed the putt though, guess I need to look at Scotty's LOL

Nice!!!!! Up hill, in windy conditions and you put it 15 feet from the pin. Yep, I would say that your H1 is working out very well!! Definitely give Scotty a try.... I love my Scotty! I love the way the ball feels coming off the putter face. If you get a chance give the AP1's a try using a launch monitor. That way you can compare your current clubs to the AP1's. Good luck with the rest of your golf season! Hit'em straight!

Great story I have just completed a very similar bag this spring and I too am loving the results scores trending down all season. And it has just gotten green here in about the last two weeks so I am very excited about what may be this season.
    Nice set.
