  1. I currently play a 913Hd 23* as a 4-iron (Diamana white 92S) and am looking at replacing my 5-iron with another hybrid. What is the most appropriate option in the current range?

I am looking for a little more consistency but I need to fill the yardage gap between my current hybrid and my 6-iron.

I replaced my 5 iron with the Titleist 27 degree hybrid. Works like a charm and there is nothing better for getting out of thick rough, hitting out of fairway bunkers, etc. Its a true "trouble" club.
  3. Consistency is a tough word to associate with golf but in your case i would worry about the loft gapping of that in your current set.. it usually goes up by 4 in most golf sets but the longer irons tend jump by 3*.. I would double check your lofts first then you can find out what you need. The new range of hybrids the H1+H2 are solid options the H2 being the better players club. The H1 comes with loft options from 19*-27*. They have the award winning surefit hosel system so you can easily adjust lofts for any yardage discrepancies you might encounter.. In my opinion i would bring your current 4 hybrid and the 6 iron with you when you go shopping to a titleist accredited performance center, go ask one of the golf techs to set you up with a hitting bay and you can figure out what you will need right then and there. Then you can test the new hybrid with the other 2 clubs and you can adjust loft right then and there so you will not get any awkward yardage gaps. Should not take any longer than an hour i presume. Good luck

Please do take the time to find the right hybrid. Titleist no longer matches hybrid lofts to iron lofts. Since the hybrids can go -1/+2 degrees of loft, the (24-27) 25 H1/H2 or the (26-29) 27 H1, get the best fit for your distance gap.

Recommend going to see the Titleist fitter in your area. Want to ensure that you get dialed in properly with the hybrids and the correct shaft. The Fujikura Motore Speeder HB 8.8 Tour Spec is a standard shaft and it is awesome. Really drives the ball nice and high. I have the 816H1 19* set at 21* and carry a 716 5 iron, which is 24*. You did not say what type of irons you are playing. The 716 irons are long and accurate. I carry two hybrids in my bag, the other is a 715h 18, set at 17.25*. Take your set of clubs and go see a fitter. Was at mine today to get the gaps right between clubs and the weights right on my putters.

Thanks for all replies so far. For some reason the account I have been unable to respond under the account I made yesterday, so here is my second attempt with a new account.

Agree with most of the feedback. I was fitted for the 23* 913Hd and play a 18* also with same shaft. Current 5-iron and rest of irons are 914 AP2's.

I am happy with the distances gaps with the current set-up but just feel more comfortable with the 23* than the 5-iron. Do people feel that the new hybrids are significantly longer than the 913Hd's, all else being equal.

Probably not worth debating further - I just don't really want the hassle of going to get fitted if it's likely that a suitable head/shaft combination can't be found to fit the yardage gap.

Thanks again though for taking the time to reply.
