  1. After I hit 65 there was a definite loss of club head speed. My D2 910 Diamana 65 S no longer suits my reduced club head speed. Should I reshaft and if so with what?

You may need to change shafts, but first set up an appt. with your fitter and see what recommendation he/she has for you.

I find your query of interest. I'm 72 and recently was fitted for the 917 driver by my local Titlelist fitter. Of note, I had also been fitted for driver (915D) by one of the Tour Van guys last November. At both fittings, the shaft of choice turned out to be the Diamana S+ Blue in stiff. My swing speed is not high, even for an older guy, running about 89-92 during both fittings. But the shot dispersion with the stiff shaft was far improved over the regular shaft and even the lighter shaft in stiff. Of real surprise to me was that both fittings said I should use the D3, not the D2. I've not pulled the string yet, though, as I'll need to wait for some extra dollars to make this pickup. Perhaps later this year if I get some good course credit.

Titleist definitely has some great shafts that will help. I just turned 70 and am very pleased with the distances I am getting with my Driver, fairway and hybrids. Would suggest that you try the newer club heads. I have the 915D2 and have the Aldila Black Rogue 70 S and am hitting my drives around the 230 to 250 range. I was fitted for all my Titleist clubs. Believe my clubhead speed is around 93 and ball speed around the 2000 to 2500 range. I am hitting the ball more consistently and scoring better than I ever have. A certified fitter can be your best friend and bring new life to your game and the new 917 equipment is something to behold. 910 equipment is somewhat outdated. With respect.
  5. I am in the same position. Have a 910 d2 with project x 7c3 stiff shaft. What would be a good equivalent for a 915 d2 10.5 driver please

Steven, I'm closing in on 69 and a few years ago I went to a fitter who used TrackMan to set me up. Now I do a TrackMan session spring and fall to see if the driver is giving me my best and to get good numbers with my irons. My guess would be that a good fitting session where the fitter can give you some options with shafts might better answer your question.

We're in the same boat and I agree with Barry B. that a proper fitting is the best way to go. With that being said, I just upgraded to the 917-D2 with the Diamana LTD Red 50 in stiff. Increased my speed and got me the added height that I was looking for. I would at least hit the new 917D and test them yourself in a fitting session is not your thing.

Steve - a new shaft from Titleist will likely start around $150 or more. The 910 to the 917 really adds lot more forgiveness and is easier to get improved dispersion control. I had a 913 and was fitted for the same shaft as Jerry R. BTW, I'm 66. What I gained in forgiveness from the 913 (improved distance on off-center hits) is nothing short of amazing. If you can swing the cost of a new 917, this is one time I've found not just an incremental improvement but a big jump in the quality of my driver shots. It wasn't just the 20 yards on solid hits, but all around better shots.
