Guys , i'm fairly new to Titleist and new to Team Titleist and the forums so apologies if this has been asked before. I've recently taken a big plunge after going to my local AG. I've bought the 917D3, 917F and 2 x 816 hybrids. Obviously this was a fairly significant outlay but i'm hoping it will get me single figures (just finished the season on my lowest ever of 9.9). The reason for my post is that the chap at AG said that when my clubs arrive from Titleist i will only get one pack of weights and one wrench to cover all 4 clubs. Is that really the case ? I would hope and maybe naively expect to get a set of weights for both the driver and fairway especially as the combined cost is £650 and would expect a wrench per club for the hybrids. It's not a greed thing but when it comes to upgrade to the next lanch retailers expect all clubs to come complete with all tools and headcovers to get maximum value. Any advice would be gratefully received . ( I can't wait to get the clubs by the way and am hoping they'll arrive beofre the weekend !!!!)

    Hi Drewster,

Welcome to Team Titleist! Congrats on the great season and I'm sure once you get your new Titleist clubs, they will help you accomplish your goals.

In regards to the wrench and weights, I believe Titleist only provides a wrench for drivers, since they same wrench should work for all the clubs. But I also believe that most other manufactures use the same adjustment tool as well, so it doesn't need to be a Titleist wrench, but of course, double check before really using it.

The weights, they don't provide extra weights for the clubs and will only come with whatever is standard or what you were fitted for in your clubs. You are able to purchase additional weights, but most people wouldn't adjust the weights in their clubs, after they have been fitted for the correct ones.

For resale value (which I'm sure this won't happen for a while, since Titleist makes the best clubs), having the head cover is always a good thing and the wrench is just icing on the cake. Most re-sale retailers don't expect a club to be turned in with the wrench, since it's a pretty common tool. Head covers could be the same, as many golfers choose to use a different type of head cover, but it's a good thing to provide the one that came with it. They are more concerned with the condition of the club instead of the accessories that come with it.

Titleist isn't the only one that doesn't provide a wrench with their fairway woods or hybrids. You have to go and ask when you are at the pro shop and they will all tell you that the only club that comes with the wrench for most manufactures is just the driver, as that is the most expensive club and also the one that is most likely to get adjusted more often.

Enjoy your new clubs when they arrive.

Let me try to clarify what you were told.

First, the only club that actually comes with the wrench is the driver. I'm not sure why, but this has been the case from the release of the first adjustable clubs from Titleist. The good thing is that the same wrench is used on all of the clubs.

As far a weights go, each club comes with one set of weights. The set you get is determined by the swingweight that you were fitted for. For the 816 hybrids this is just the one weight that is installed. For the driver and the fairways, you get a neutral weight along with the draw/fade weight; both are the same value. If the neutral is an 8 gram weight then the draw/fade will also weigh 8 grams.

This will be all that any retailer would expect in a trade-in as that is all that was originally supplied by Titleist.

Best of luck with the new clubs....
