  1. Hi looking for a new 3 wood with a lower loft as I prefer 3wood to a driver need one with 12 degree or less get about 230+ carry with my cobra 3wood and pretty straight but looking for a bit further

  2. Hey DHENDERSON... cobra does make a great fairway wood, which I used to play, but actually switched to the 915fd and have fallen into love with it.. I truly do not believe there is a fairway wood that is easier to hit than that one, plus it is very long and straight! Just my 2 cents good luck on your search!

    Hi,
You can try the new 917F2 fairway with 13.5 and lower the loft. I would also go to a local Titleist fitter to make sure you get the right shaft in order for you to maximize your desired distance. Hope that helps!
  4. Good morning...
The 917 is available at 12 degrees and might be an option for you... highly recommend getting properly fitted at your local shop to optimize your investment... good luck in your search!

When Titleist Thursdays get cranked back up in a couple of weeks, I would recommend that you check out the 917fs. If you need one sooner, please find a Titleist certified fitter in your area. I bought one when they first came out and they are a solid 3 wood. I bought the 15* and off the tee I can put it out there with most guys drivers and that is around the 220 yard marker, but remember I am a young 70 and sometimes it will go past the 230 distance, if I catch it real solid. They make a 13.5* and you can adjust it to a 12.75*. I believe if you would go see a fitter, and with the right shaft, they could help you meet your objective, because this new Titleist fairway metal are off the charts. I also play the Prov1 ball and that helps too. With the right set up, launch, ball spin and club head speed, you can get exactly what you want and more with this club. Cheers, Chuck........ Oh, one thing about the 917s, they are silent but deadly.....

I play the 917 F2 15* and it gives me the perfect launch, carry around 235. I don't think I could achieve the carry numbers with a 13.5*, sometimes less loft leads to less carry distance. I recommend that you get fitted for a 917, you may find out that the 917D2 12* driver - properly fitted for shaft & length (-1"??) will give you the performance your looking for?

I've also been doing my research for a new 3 wood. I've hit a few now and I'm looking at going with the 917 f2.
