    Hi,

I've bought a second hand 585H 24 deg Hybrid. The shaft isn't what I wanted (Aldila 3979 Soft Reg), but it was Hobson's Choice! I intend to reshaft with an Aldila NV Green 85G Hybrid shaft, which is the same as what is fitted in my other hybrids.

Because Titleist don't stock the Green NV anymore, I have had to purchase one from another supplier and arrange reshafting with a third party club fitter.

There's no longer any data on the Titleist website regarding this model range - no idea why. So I need the necessary figures to help my club fitter do his job. I suppose things like swing weight, length, overall weight and the things you have to do to the shaft when cutting and trimming. Also the question arises regarding the fact that this club is thru' bore - does that affect anything with the reshaft?

Any and all information would be appreciated.

From the Sand Trap review from 2006 - Specifications: The PT 585.H is available in 24° lofts for both righties and lefties. Stock shaft options include the Aldila NV 85 Hybrid,. The length (39.5″ at 24°) can be customized +1″ or -2″ (depending on the chosen shaft), but the lie angle (58-59°) cannot. The standard grip is the Titleist Tour Velvet Rubber (with the logo underneath).

Brian, I don't believe the 585H is a thru-bore, it only looks like one (if I remember correctly). I did a reshaft on mine years ago, and I am fairly certain it is a 0.355" diameter hosel, so be sure your club maker knows that in case the shaft you picked up is 0.370" diameter. He will cut it to the playing length you want, and he should be able to adjust swing weight to bring it in at D2-D3 once you choose the grip you want to use.

The club is a very good choice, and many guys are still playing them. I hope it turns out well for you.

    Good luck!

Brian, the hosel diameter should be 0.350" not 0.355", sorry for the typo.

You can get tipping information from Aldila for the NV 85 Hybrid shaft in a 24* head.
