My advice would be to wait until the irons show up and hit the 48 PW some just to be sure. That might force you to wait a few extra weeks to complete your set but will be better than making a decision you later regret.

I will be in a similar boat. My T200s will be 5 - P, W. I am going to ride it out with my current 54 and 58 until later this year when the new Vokeys drop and reassess at that point. I am considering either going 53 and 58 or 54 and 60. I will have plenty of time to figure out my yardages with the new T200 wedges between now and then.

Yes, I am torn as well coming from AP2s with a 46 PW, then 50/54/58 Vokeys.

The 48* T200 will replace the 50 Vokey for me, but now I am trying to decide between a 52* SM8 (or whatever they will be called), 1* weak, or a 54* SM8, 1* strong. The concern I have is swing weight. The 54s are typically D5 and the 52s are typically D3 swing weighted. And of course, the bounce will be affected by a degree one way or the other as well, depending on which option is chosen. Not to mention, a 52 bent to 53 would be a slightly longer club than a 54 bent to 53. Just a little more minutia to add to the equation for those of us who tend to overthink things. I am king of overthinking.

Same issue in here too! I will wait until new sm8 comes out and this time i try 52 with same shaft like normal irons and 58 with wedge shaft

Hi there, I’m also thinking about my wedge options whilst awaiting my new T200’s (like a kid approaching Xmas) - you may already be taking this into acct but the T200 PW is 43 degree which is a big change for me coming from 48 PW in my last set, and depending on what you like to have in your bag at the other end, this may impact your wedge choices further - I will carry; D, 3W, 19 hyb, 4-PW, Putter, leaving three wedges to bridge 43 - to c.60. Whilst I’ve not yet had the Titleist/Vokey wedge fitting (I intend to but will test my 43 PW yardage first), the guy that fitted me at Titleist in the UK (Dan Friend) has suggested a typical wedge set would be the T200 or Vokey 48 gap wedge + 53 + 58, but cautioned we all swing differently and produce different results, focus should be on gapping the yardages and not lofts - for me it’s balancing yardages and how you like to play the different chip/pitch shots we come up against.
Not sure this is helpful to you individually but when I was researching my next set there seemed to be some misunderstanding out there and these details might help others doing their research.

Hi Chris, what did you end up using for your wedges? My setup is the same as yours: D, 3W, 19 hyb, 4-PW, Putter, so bought a T200 gap wedge (48) using the same shaft as the rest of my irons (Project X LZ). I have a 52, 56, and 60 from my previous set that I need to replace so one club has to say goodbye. I was intrigued by the 53/58 combo that you mentioned.

Typically my iron yardages (full swing at 80-90% at close to sea level) are gapped at 11-13 yards - the T200's are PW (43) 145 yds, GW (48) 132 yds. So I either need the 53ish/58ish combo and practice a ton to dial in yardages with different swing lengths or ditch one of the longer clubs.

I thought I would have the same issue when I had seen the lofts, and I brought these concerns up to my fitter and we decided to go 2 degrees weak on 8-P and 1 degree weak on 7 iron to blend lofts. My wedges went 50, 56(bent to 55), and a 60 this way it was equal gapping throughout the bag.

Don't forget, on many of the Titleist sets the "P" is 43* but the "A" is 48*

For me, to gap properly after the PW (43), I went with a 48 Vokey, followed by a 54 (bent to 53) and then a 58.

I agree with the "wait and see" advice. I think it's possible the 48-degree T200 won't have as much extra distance (compared to another 48-degree club) as the distance advantage of, say, the 7-iron or 8-iron in the T200 set. A lot of modern technology that adds distance works better in the stronger lofted clubs, not so much at the pitching wedge end of the bag.

And if you do end up with a few yards too much gap between the 48-degree T200 and the 52-degree Vokey you can always bend one or the other one degree to tweak your distances slightly.

My intention is to switch to the t-200s so I think my set will look like the following:
Dr, 3-w(15), Hyb (1 deg strong at 18), U500 (1 deg weak at 21), t200 5i(24)- W (48) and one vokey (at either 51,52 or 53) and a second somewhere between (54 &57).

My Vokey wedges originally 50 & 54 complimented my 716 AP2’s with the correct gapping. I now have a set of T200’s with a 48 deg g/w so I’ve had my Vokey’s bent to 51 & 55 to give me the correct gapping. I use my Vokey’s more for scoring shots rather than full shots. If I do need to make a full shot then I know I’ve the right club for the distance required. I hit the 48 approx 110 yards and the 51 approx 95 yards the 55 approx 75 yards, this gapping works well for me. Wait until you get your T200’s then try and get a proper fitting for your wedges.

I am probably over thinking this but... I am looking at the T200's 5-Pw at 1* strong. This would put my PW at 42* and would be able to use my 46*, 50* and 56* Vokey's. At the other end of the bag I would have Dr, 15* 3wood, h2 17* set to 18*, a 20* u500 and the 5 Iron would come in at 23*.

I think you’ll find that the t-200 club face is very hot relative to the face on a vokey wedge, which is why you’ll want a smaller gap in degrees between the last club from the iron set” and your first vokey.

During my fitting, I was suggested to get a 54 and a 58 degree wedge. I also have the 48 degree GW.

Would it be bad to have the T200 lofts changed? It seems like everyone is changed wedges. Or is that just easier?

I am ordering the T200's 1* strong. That puts the pitching wedge at 42*. Then I have 46*, 50* and 56* Vokey's

I did the same, but had my 46.10F adjusted 1 degree weak to 47 for max spin, kept the 52.12F standard, and then made my 58.08M strong to 57.

The T200 and the AP3 48* wedge plays long (like a PW almost of the CB set) it pairs and gaps well with Vokey 50* on my set.

I was in the same boat. I have the t200, 5-pw. The gap was between the t200 pw, which is 43 degrees loft, and my vokey 50 degree. Fortunately, I have a set of miz MP 64 irons, with a 46 degree pitching wedge. I have been using the miz wedge and it fits nicely.

After a lot of play this summer with the set-up of PW(43), AW(48), Vokey (52) and Vokey(56) I decided to swap out this wedge setup in favor of:
PW(43), Vok (46 bent to 47), Vok (50 bent to 51) and Vokey (54 bent to 55).

Why:
1. I never could get comfortable w/ 48 t200 wedge. The club never sat right, as it would seemingly sit “closed” in my stance and would “move up” in my stance unless I was really conscious of my set up. Consequently I often would get either really steep with the club and hit chunky hooks or thin it. Bottom line just couldn’t get comfortable.

2. Having a Vok (46 bent to 47) ought to add significantly more shot making flexibility around the green. Ie (low pitches off really tight lies and Long blast bunker shots say 40 yds).
3. Full shots: There’s no question that the face of the t200 (48) is hotter than the Vokey wedge, which is why I’m off setting the face “hotness” of (48) with a little less loft in the Vokey (47). My philosophy is to hit my wedges low and long iron high. I think it will be easier to hit softer (no spin ) shots to elevated greens that have false fronts with multiple Vokey options in my bag as well.
4. I think the Vokey will “naturally “ sit further back in my stance, eliminating certain issues that I was having w/ the 48.

I the filled the balance of my wedges 50 bent to 51 and 54 bent to 55 to have a 4 degree spread between the lofts.

Why not a 58 or 60???- I’ve learn to hit high/ flop shots by manipulating the face at address rather than carry an extra wedge.
