  1. Hey Guys,

I have a few questions about the U500. I was fit for irons at a Titleist Thursday and I also did a paid fitting at the Titleist Manchester Lane testing facility. They each let me try the U500 but only with stock shaft... The club is nice, I'm just not a fan of the project x smoke. Where the heck can I try different shafts for this club?

If I can't find a way to get fitted for the shaft in this club I am just going to put a TOUR AD 85 DRIVING IRON 89g #3 Black in my current T-MB 4 iron. (its only 100 bucks).

What are your thoughts? Also, What length would you suggest in a graphite shaft for this club? I can see that the stock shaft for the U500s are longer than the t100s... (39.75" for the 17* 3 iron.... 39.25" in the 20* 3 iron and 38.75" in the 23* 4 iron...) but graphite design shafts can only be purchased from places like Golfio and Gold Works at 39"

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

You can find the shafts here and should find them at most golf stores that do fittings. If youre considering the Gd AD DI, the ORANGE shaft, its pure $$$. It bring the ball in high and soft into the green..

It's easy to test and get fitted for different shafts in the clubs with adjustable heads like drivers, fairway woods, and hybrids but all the utility irons and regular irons are designed for fixed shafts. The fitting iron heads are all 7 irons. The TPI locations probably will eventually have a handful of the more common shafts in utility irons to allow some variation in testing. Sorry they were not available when you were fitted. Most of the tour guys playing them seem to gravitate towards whatever shaft they would have used in a hybrid. Example would be Jordan's now famous T-MB he hit to win the British Open. I think it was a Tour AD Orange? Now he plays a hybrid in Tour AD Orange but his U500 is a steel Project X like he has in his irons. I know, I know, I was no help whatsoever. Sorry.
