Still using a Titleist 910 Hybrid with an 80 gram Diamana shaft. Just bought a “new” 818 model, same specs except it has a 60 gram Tensei shaft (like having Sure Fit weight to reduce draw tendency). HOWEVER, concerned that the shaft weight difference may be throwing off my swing consistency. What are my options, beyond swapping out the shafts?

    Thanks in advance!

You can get great prices on old overstock like an 818. But with no fitting options. The 910 hybrid hosel doesn’t fit other hybrids so you can’t swap shafts directly. Options include buying a used 913-TS hybrid to swap shafts and reselling with the 60g shaft. Note the 816-TS shafts adjust the launch by 1 degree and older shafts adjust in .75 degree increments

Were you fitted for the new hybrid before purchasing it. A fitting would have put you in the correct club and shaft. With respect.

Throw off your feel and change the ball flight which could eventually cause you to make a swing change to compensate, thats probable. You could pop your old shaft in and try, you might in infant prefer or are used to a lighter shaft.
  5. It’s tough. I have seen people use led tape or have some one fill the head to make it heavier but 20 gram difference is a lot. If you have access to it I would take them both to a fitter and see your numbers and shot patterns to see what exactly it is. You may just have to get a new shaft.

Since my swing is very familiar with the Diamana shaft in my 910 hybrid, I should probably just use that shaft with the 818 head. Guess I’ll obtain the proper Sure fit adapter and go that route.

(And, I have the matching shaft in my 910 17 deg fairway wood anyway).

    Thanks for the feedback!

You’ve hit the trifecta. The 910 Fairway, hybrids, and driver share the same hosel, as do all Surefit drivers. That leaves the fairway shafts as another orphan separate from newer fairways.

In conclusion, I just finished installing (epoxy) the correct Sure fit hosel adapter onto my trusty Diamana shaft....

For me 60g is too light plus I miss left a little bit. Went to 70g almost 2 years ago. I have been using 816H1 23 and 27 with S70+ stiff for some time now. I use Excel RF oversize and -3/4" shaft length with settings at D3 and A2. I just acquired 816H1 and H2 21* hybrids. Both set D3 and -3/4". The H1 works better with stiff and H2 with regular. I put the H1 in my dad's bag as a 4 iron replacement. The H2 is meant for a Sunday bag (I carry a 913F 21 in my full bag).
